I just finished listening to a Meghan Linsey do her rendition of "Girl Crush" and couldn't get it out of my mind that I've heard that melody before, almost to the note. After humming it repeatedly, I was able to remember a few words. Anybody else here remember "It's A Heartache"?
What is Meghan Linsey doing singing on The Voice as a contestant? She's not an amateur, she was part of a group called Steel Magnolia and they had a few top 10 hits as I recall.
You are right and they have even spoken about that. She broke out on her own. She has taken a lot of criticism on twitter and other social media about her professional past and ruining it for up-n-coming new artists.

Try listening to Rascal Flatts "I won't let go" - it's got the same tempo, so almost sounds closer than "It's a Heartache"
