    Amen, that's one thing I hate the most is when people say "WELL I PAY MY BILL ON TIME EVERY MONTH" - - BIG ___KING DEAL, WANT A PRIZE?

    -Clapping- Congratulations for paying your bill on time. You think this entitles you to have the entire company stop what they're doing and review your issue simply because you pay on time every month?

    And how many lines did you have on your account?

    yep that was it! enough to make every customer leave.
    you know even if you dont care about the customers issue, at least pretend.

    It's answering questions like "what is the problem", or "why do you want to cancel" or other such questions with "because the company is *****" that is lacking adult conversation. Why do people feel that smarting off to those trying to help will get them any help? And also ditto to those who have explained profitable. You don't get points for paying on time, but you do for making the company actual profit.

    Hmmmm...I wonder if I tell my landlord that I want special treatment or free rent for a month or something like that because I always pay my rent on time if they will care? Nope, could care less because that's what I agreed to do. Case closed.

    Yikes, I got an all caps reply.

    -ego is hurt-

    Anyway, it breaks down like this...

    $150 a month / 4 lines on the account = $37.50 per line

    Which means, they weren't making any money off you. They make an effort to keep customer's who the company is making money off of. If you're only bringing in $37.50 per line they really aren't that sad to see you go, and that's the honest truth.

    Guess what?

    I just signed my 4 lines up with Alltel Online. Im paying $125.00 a month, and you know what they have great customer service because the actually care about the customer and taking care of them. Goodbye At&t! You just lost $1800 a year from me! But hey at your company who gives a crap.

    Well that is there decision and if thats how they feel then im not sorry leaving them behind. I dont demand a discount for paying ontime. I demand professionalism and compassion with every cs call. whether you have been a customer for 15 years or 1 day. That was my point.

    Nope, I haven't been paying rent since the age of 7. You're right. All Tel's practically begging for customer's, that's why their ____ is so cheap. Anyway, you may quit _____ing now and posting in the at&t forums Mr.alltelwirelessisthebest

    That doesn't change anything. It doesn't matter how many years you do what you agreed to do. It's the minimum expected standard. Has nothing to do with the argument which, by the way, I win in this case. Done.

    Actually it does. A customer develops a reputation.
    Here is a little story for you.
    My great grandparents have had a home telephone since 1928 and the both died within the last year. ALL this time they have payed ontime and maintained service. When they died we thought the telephone was turned off by one of the family members but Bellsouth called and asked why payment has not been sent. We asked payment for what? they said well your telephone has been on for 6 months with no payment. We said well why did you leave it on when there was no payment? You know what they said??? BECAUSE THE CUSTOMER HAD BEEN THERE FOR SO LONG AND ALWAYS PAID ON TIME!!! Now its case closed. And I WIN!

    Because most customer service reps only go out of their way to resolve issues for customer's that are actually bringing in enough money for the company to make money..

    GOOD GOD we are back to the original "profit" part. they paid $20 a month for a basic phone line and they kept them for 6 months without pay because of them paying on time and being lon time customers. Also we did not have to pay for the six months!

    Well congratulations. I applaud your efforts to make my try to change my opinion about why the company should be sorry about losing you, but you have not swayed my opnion. Have fun with All Tel, hope the service is better and you can now _____ and moan in the All tel forums.

    Tony was nice enough to re-open this thread for the moment so I could add a note to this thread. I read it earlier and to be honest I'm appalled by how the opening poster responded to other members on this board who were trying to explain to him the simple truth.

    As a rule that I have tested over time, please note I'm not affiliated with any of these companies, Customer Service Reps generally recipocate the treatment they receive, if you're a wiseacre expect to be treated like one. Also the revenue per customer statement is very much true, businesses prioritize clients per profit, we've discussed that on this board in the past with the Customer Level announcement.

    The op to this post was very hostile when his view was opposed, he was assaultive and I'm sure that's why he was banned from this site. Whether or not he did have a bad encounter with AT&T I still have yet to figure out as I never could figure out what the issue was for him as he never stated it.

    Lastly, to all those who are reading this, the members here are just ordinary people like yourself, we're not paid to answer questions we do it for the fun of it, if you treat us rudely we will respond in the same manner and usually the management will look at it from there. Don't act immature like this guy, there are far better ways to express views and solve issues.

    i just looked over this whole thread and i couldn't see where the user "alltelwireless-the best" was any more rude than anyone else here with the exception of that website link. That was really immature and rude. How long is he going to banned for? Forever wouldn't be fair when all he did was post 1 rude/against policy advertisment link.

    My dad had Alltel before I put him on my Cell One family plan, I had to call Alltel customer service to cancel his account and port the number to cell one and I actuall went over my dads minutes from being on hold so long.

    My dads problem started with poor service coming from the tower covering his house which is also the closest Cell One tower. He called CS probably about 30 time in a year period and they never fixed the problem. When my dad got the phone he averaged 4 out of 7 bars then the phone went to 1-2 bars tops.

    I think it depends on who you get or what call center you get when you call CS. Dobson about 4 years ago had aweful CS and billing before I started working with them. I think all companies go thru a bad batch of CS.
