Amazing to see photos from that part of the world, but missing people!

Were there always no windows in the last photo, or were they filled in?

The people are all in the cities and not in remote Hill Forts. :D

It's a Fort so windows would defeat the purpose, they are alcoves that are now missing the colors. It dates back to the 12th century and is moderately preserved.

Here is one from the 7th century that is pretty much in ruins and starting some restorations.

@charlyee: In that 2nd image of a relic building, I kept staring at it and thinking, "Something isn't right." I wondered for a while if it was a lens distortion of something else. Then it dawned on me. How's this:

@KevinJames, I will confess i had no clue what correction/s you had made. So I contacted two forumite experts, one an iPhone expert and the other a photography expert.

I was told by both of them that you had rotated my picture clockwise slightly.

Aha, that has been an on going operator problem, I seem to always hold my phone skewed to the left, I do sometimes correct them in post processing but no always.

You will have a field day with my pictures. Here are a few that will drive you crazy.

@charlyee. Maybe you should turn on 'Grid'?

    Settings-> camera and photos->Grid On

It will superimpose an two line vertical and horizontal grid in the camera mode. I always keep mine on. Helps get the photos set up nicely.

@viewfly, Thanks very much vf. I did know about the grid option but never turned it on. I need to take my phone more seriously as picture taking device.

@charlyee: You could have just asked me. I'm an amatuer photographer. Have been since age 16 (I'm now 65). When I'm doing scenic shots, I always use my Canon DSLR. But admittedly, I haven't take it out in a very long time. (Just carrying a heavy camera has become an exhausting challenge.) I used Paint Shop Pro to straighten the image but GIMP (a free PC app) is just as capable for small jobs.

I am still hoping to take a one-week photo excursion in September to photo the rutting elk along the northern California coastline. The unknowns are my health--it continues to slowly spiral downward. (I think I've mentioned the cancers and bone marrow failure, yes??). The other issue is that I'm really not well enough to make the trip alone. I've still not found a younger companion that enjoys photography and is willing to assist and watch over me.

I've taken the trip once before in 2012 before the leukemia went ballistic. Here's a link to some of my better pics from that excursion.

    Yes KJ.

It is in mint condition complete with a vehicle charger.

My reason/excuse for posting it on this thread is the picture was taken with my iPhone

    PS: Found it cleaning house.

@charlyee: Oh, I didn't mean to demand or even expect an explanation. I figured you were having fun with your iphone. I just pre-ordered my Samsung Note 7 (in blue) today.:):D

I haven't kept any of my prior phones. I either donated them (armed forces, battered women, etc) or I traded them in for credit.

@viewfly: LOL. That shouldn't be too hard to do. Although falling like flies (get the pun?), I still have some friends using iphones. (Just yesterday I was talking with an Apple loyalist. Every device, down to his MP3 music player, is Apple. When I explained the built-in script to text function, he remembered his Palm Trio. I told him that unlike that device, he didn't need to learn a specific way of writing. Natural cursive is fine, it can change it to editable text with no problem. Guess who is think of getting the Note??? LOL)
