Did anyone watch the premire of The Hebrew Hammer staring Adam Goldberg on Comedy Central on Monday? It was a bad movie (what Goldberg termed "Jew-sploitation") but I loved it because it was funny and I'm a huge fan of the Blaxploitation films of the '70s. The really weird thing about it was that it premired on Comedy Central on Monday and is being theatrically released tomorrow, Friday, December 12th. I've never heard of a movie being marketed that way. I'd go see it in the theater, though but it probably will not be showing in my town.

Sup, Mr. Hooligan?? I wanted to watch that, but I had to choose between that and Battlestar Galactica, which is a figment from my childhood. I chose Galactica. Hopefully I will get to see the Hammer because it looked F-ing FUNNY!!

Nope, Mario Van Peebles, actually. He was the leader of the KLF or Kwanza Liberation Front. Great flick. I laughed a lot. Especially when the Hammer said, "Shabot Shalom, mother@#%&ers!" in a Nazi bar. It was good times. (I hate Nazis.)[IMG]

I believe it is Hebrew for Hello but I'm unsure as I'm not Jewish and don't speak Hebrew. In fact, I'm not even sure if I've spelled Shabot Shalom correctly. (How've you been Delta?)

Shabbat shalom means literally "peace on Sabbath" but in general it's "good Sabbath".
On holidays you say "khag sameach" (KHAHG sah-MAY-akh), and on Rosh Hashanah you say "l'shanah tovah".

"Baruch ata adonai eloheinu melech ha-olam, asher kidshanu b'mitzvotav v'tzivanu l'hadlik ner shel (Shabbat/Hanukkah)."
"Blessed art Thou, God, King of the Universe, who hast shown us the commandment of lighting the (Sabbath/Hanukkah) candles."

    Darkest of night
    With the moon shining bright
    There's a set goin' strong
    Lotta things goin' on
    The man of the hour
Has an air of great power
The dudes have envied him for so long

    Oooh, Superfly
You're gonna make your fortune by and by
But if you lose, don't ask no questions why
The only game you know is Do or Die
    Ah-ha-ha

    Hard to understand
What a hell of a man
    This cat of the slum
    Had a mind, wasn't dumb
    But a weakness was shown
    'Cause his hustle was wrong
    His mind was his own
    But the man lived alone

The game he plays he plays for keeps
    Hustlin' times and ghetto streets
    Tryin' ta get over
(That's what he tryin' to do, y'all)
Taking all that he can take
Gambling with the odds of fate
    Tryin' ta get over
    Woo, Superfly

    The aim of his role
Was to move a lot of blow
    Ask him his dream
    What does it mean?
    He woudn't know
    "Can't be like the rest"
    Is the most he'll confess
    But the time's running out
    And there's no happiness

    Superfly

    Tryin' ta get over it...

In the movie his name was Priest and he was a coke dealer. In real life he is Ron O'Neal.

Right on! Good song too, Curtis Mayfield. I like Ron a lot, was awesome in that film, and in Super Fly T.N.T, I found this filmography of him, he's done some directing too-

Hey, I liked the kitties singing, cracked me up!! lol Oh, speaking of Ohio, I went through there a few summers back on our way back from our Sacramento to DC train trip, went through Southern Ohio (Cincinatti and Hamilton) and nearby Kentucky (Maysville, Ashland and South Portsmouth) on Amtrak's Cardinal, awesome train by the way, beautiful scenery too!

Because when I'm in the mood for a swingin' good time, I leave the boring old Sunset Strip, skip out on the same old shiny lights of Santa Monica Boulevard, and head out for a rip-roarin' good time at Billy Joe Bob's House O' Weak Beer 'N Euchre in fabulous, metropolitan Hinton, West Virginia!!

No, I would imagine with all the trees they have they can hide them very well, that's what they do here, many sites are put in the middle of a group of trees, and you can hardly notice them. I don't care anyway, towers look fine to me, not nearly as stand out as major power lines, they really stand out in areas like this because of the tree free zone they have to keep along their path.
