Ok, so I'm going to go to Verizon this week to re-up my contract and get a new phone.

I'm considering the Razr or the VX9800. In reality I really just need a good phone with a camera and a few fun features. But, the internet pull on the VX9800 is strong.

Any VX9800 owners care to tell me about their data plan? I know there was initially some concern about the text/email packages that were offered. How much more would I pay every month with the VX9800 for the data plan?

I wouldnt get a RAZR to many problems with it, slow ui, and overall just a pretty weak phone.

    I would get either a VX9800 or a VX8300 both are excellent.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll look at the 8300. Do you guys think that the VX9800 is going to be too bulky and become out of date by the end of my contract?

I personally don't like the 9800 that much. I have heard a lot of good things about the 8300. It may be something to upgrade to. What phone do you currently use?

the 9800 is a little bit big but not huge considering what it has inside its not bad. and if you get the holster (the holster is nice it has a rubberish coating which makes it feel smooth and nice) you will be good to go.

i also like the 8300 alot i ordered it for myself and it should arrive today actually.

Well, I've been dead set on sticking with Moto and getting a v3m... but now I'm challenging my thinking and looking at the 9800 (The V). I really like the QWERTY keyboard option. And, I read in a review that it offers a "flight" mode, So's I can use it as an MP3 player on the plane and turn off the phone function. If that's true, then screw the sleekness of the v3. My wife's used LG phones for years with no problems, so I'm really not worried about the quality.

I'm heading over to the store here in Columbus today to take a look and see about the bulk factor. That's my only concern at this point... but I could probably live with it. I'm due for NE2 next Monday, so I wanna see what the price will be.

Lake (or anyone else)... did you end up choosing the 9800 or the 8300? What's your thoughts so far?

My advice to you is to stear clear of the Razr V3m. The phone is worthless. Don't waste your money or your time.

The LG Vx8300 is a good solid phone. All phones have their quirks, and things to get used to. The V is probably a good phone too, in fact there are a few choices Verizon has that are great, but stear clear of the Razr! I mean that! Don't get sucked in by the *cool* factor.

If you can convert videos to use on it, it's a cool looking vid player. (my brother converted several simpsons cartoons to play on his Samsung from Sprint)
