The Data cable and software

Hello everyone...new to this forum today. looks to be pretty helpful. Recently I purchased the 5300 and downloaded the snapmedia software. I obtained the new drivers for the USB cable and installed the software. I am dead in the watter. It will not sync with my computer. Went to the web site (which is currently down) and in red print it says 5300 users need a special update...why is this not available on the web site?? Anyhow if I'm missing something please let me know...I'm still trying to learn about this phone...thank you
