I added another line tonight when I activated my car phone on my existing Verizon plan. $10.99/ mo. Not bad. When I was leaving the store, the rep says, "Don't forget your free phone."

I don't know why, but I didn't realize I'd get a free phone for activating a second line. The phone has no number because I had my car phone use it, but it's a decent spare or maybe an eBay sale.

EDIT: BTW, it's an LG VX3300.

Wow, that is weird that they'd give you a free phone just for activating your car phone. Is it OnStar?

Nope. It's a Motorola TimePort. Ugly as sin, but it works so sweet with the voice recogniton software built into the car. I set up a quick dial button on my cell to forward calls to my car phone when I get in and another quick dial button to unforward when I get out. The car phone stays in the car at all times and the number remains a closely guarded secret. ;) :browani:

Interesting, we used to have car phones in Germany, now we have 2 GM vehicles with OnStar in them but never use it...too expensive!

The car phone you mean? It's tri-mode. Here's a pic.

Well sweet that should make you one happy person. If I would have gotten I would have sold it on Ebay because I already have a phone I like.

Yeah, I thought about selling it. But these phones are a dime-a-dozen on eBay. I'll check around with friends and family and see if anyone needs one first.

You could keep it as a back up as well.

That's what I would do. You never know what happens to your primary cell phone, and you could be in trouble if you don't have insurance and loose it or break it.
