    texting issues:

has any one else had problems with their texting service to the tune of: being able to text to any one you wish, but can't receive messages from other providers except att/cingular? i've had this problem for about 5 months now, and i'm really getting sick of it. nothing they've done has remedied it, just band-aided it for a couple weeks.

    calling issues:

more often than not, we're getting "not a valid number" or "number not in service" messages when we try to call att customers. for the last 2 or 3 nights, we haven't been able to call out or receive calls. as a manager, my phone is imperative for work.

if i wanted s**t, i'd go to a farm and get it for free...

I logged on to ask about late text messages.

I'm getting texts that were sent 8-10 hours earlier.

It's midnight here and I just got a "good afternoon" message.

Also, the other night I couldn't get though certain people.... Said to try again later.

man i agree with you 100%, that's why i cancelled all text and media on both lines
now down to barebone , grandfathered voice, i seen no since in feeding the bear
that bites you, i also carry a net 10 pay as you go phone for when att doesn't want me to make
or recieve calls, my net 10 phone has never failed me, and no tax's.and 5 cent text messaging.
maybe the trip to the farm was a good idea, at least you would have got nothing for free
now you have to pay to get nothing,

Just today I have received text messages from a Sprint friend...and a Verizon friend. I am on at&t. Sounds like you need to call and open a trouble ticket of you are not receiving any texts from other networks.

You definitely need to open a ticket on the calling issues. I have never heard of getting those error recordings....at least not on live numbers.

i've had an open ticket for each issue for about 3 months now. i'm giving them one more month to straighten this out, then they can keep their cancellation fees.

Some AT&T customers in my area are having problems receiving SMS from other networks as well. AT&T blames this on every other network, but even AT&T to AT&T SMS are sometimes hours delayed or never make it to the recipient.

my sister has verizon,my friend across the street has att, i ask my sister
to send me a text message on my net 10 phone because i no longer
have text on my att phone, i got her text message just fine, then she
text message my friends att phone, she has yet to get it, so i would have to
say it is an att problem, that again they are not going to admit to.other wise
no one would buy there text service knowing it doesn't work half the time.:loony:

This is odd to say the least, I haven't been having any of these issues with sms between AT&T users or any other carrier for that matter, including MMS. I also did some sms with a friend overseas and they were recieved on both ends right away.

The only one I have an issue with is a buddy on Nextel, he can actually get my sms a day or 2 later, but the ones he sends to me I get right away.

    Tom,

The AT&T Text issues are not a nationwide issues, I only have problems texting people on AT&T in certain markets and there are only certain markets that you hear AT&T SMS complaints about on forums. In my market, unfortunately, AT&T does also have SMS issues. They get there delayed or sometimes don't get there at all, even AT&T to AT&T SMS. I have a few friends on AT&T and sometimes they won't send/receive any SMS for a day or two and then they all get received at once.

Just last week I sent some MMS from my Verizon phone to some friends on AT&T...It took them 4 hours to get them. I sent the same MMS from an AT&T phone to another AT&T phone...took a whole hour so I'm blaming this on AT&T.

it is such a hard call to blame the network cause on the flip side I have seen phones get it fast anfd others get it slower.

I can believe this Andy, I guess it's sporatic where these issues happen & wonder if it's a certain equipment manufacture issue that cause's these delays ?

I guess I can call myself lucky to have a very good built network in this area of the Country, or it's just the spooky RF working in my favor. :p
