    Hello,

I supply phone for the office and family. Anyway long story short i would like to have a copy of incoming and out going text off of oney of my phone that i provide.

    example:
Lets say i have a daughter, and i gave her a phone. I already know "she" is texting and receving text from "who ever" I see it on the bill. I have no problem with the texting i just want to see what "she" is saying. The few text that she doese not delete dont seem to be very approiate if you know what i mean...
( i dont have a daughter with a phone just putting the example out there)

The lady at the store said that use to be an option, But that feature was deactivated because of personal privacy. While i understand there view on that, Im also paying for the phones and have been with them sense 1989.

She said the way it use to work was the user of the phone would have no clue it was activated and it would send ever in and out text to a supplied e mail.

Another words they would text like usual, just some one else could read it, and they would have no clue.

Sorta like what you see on movies and CSI....

Bottom line is i need to know what is going on a phone i provide..

    So any help?

im pretty sure its against FCC regulations for them to provide you that info. so unless you can persuade the cell companys otherwise (with a court order), or can get access to that particular phones (recieving/sending) or email accounts involved, you may be out of luck.

this is also why its not possible to get access to text records or listen in on calls (As far as i know).

the best your gonna get is a log of what time they took place, and that you can find on your online account.

log into www.alltel.com>Choose on Axcess/data services>Choose on Messaging>choose on text messaging management>Choose on Request Password( when you do this it will text a pw to the phone that you are wanting to manage)>Sign in from same page with pw that is provided>Once signed in choose on message filters>Click on add>

One of the filter options will be to have any incoming messages or outgoing depending on what is in the to or from field forwarded to email and even another handset. This will work well for what you are trying to do.

Ok i did that. I can get to this page
    Messaging

but i dont see " choose on text messaging management>Choose on Request Password"

So from what you saying is i need to put in a pass word on alltel.com. that will be sent to the phone. The i log in on alltel.com again with that password?

Also if i can get this to work the people texting will not know i can see what they are texting.. I mean if "Jill" texts "Bill" they will not know that " shawn" is reading it.

Ok maybe I made it a little more complicated than what it needed to be. When you are at alltel.com, up on top of the screen there is a little phone that says send a text message and if you click on that it will take you to where you need to go. I do not believe any of the other parties will know that you are sending those messages.

Right, that is where the request password options comes in once you request the password you can loggin and one of the option is message filters. Then you can add the filters that you want.
    Such as

If the to field contains "jill" send to handset and send to my email or my handset.

...you could also set up a phone with the users info programmed into, incoming text messages will come to that phone...

Did you check to see what the to or from field says when she sends or recives messages to make sure that you are using the right words.

I havent used her phone now. but i know she got a text last night because i read it on the phone at like 3 am when it was beeping. However i didint get a e mail

I filled it out all three ways.

    To Jon Dow
    From Jon Dow
    Subject jon Dow...

Then i thought the "phone system" might not read names so i did one with phone numbers...

Maybe the old phone just dont work they way they shoudl?
