Occasionally, if an e-mail is sent to the phone from the Internet, the e-mail is delivered to the phone either two or three hours later than it was originally sent, or it fails completely and an error is sent back to the sender.

This is not specific to any one area code, since this happens on my primary phone (area code 978) and my backup T-Mobile To Go phone (area code 617).

The error message sent back to the recipient is as follows, and this only seems to occur when it's sent from a comcast.net address. E-mail messages sent from other addresses (including Google's Gmail) are delivered to the phone within seconds of them being sent.

(Actual E-mail addresses removed below to prevent spam.)

This notification was sent by the Comcast e-mail server indicating the T-Mobile server refused the message, but "Other Address Status" really does not say why the message failed.

    Thoughts?

IMO it's a comcast problem. I have a few friends with Comcast HSI, and it is routine for me to get their emails hours late (I have Verizon DSL).

Post some anonymized headers of one email from comcast that did go through - usually you can determine where the delays are occurring.

The phone doesn't display mail headers, but it would appear to be a Comcast issue due to the fact that it doesn't occur from anywhere else.

This problem appears to have since cleared up. Incoming e-mail is being delivered within seconds now, from a Comcast address.
