After weeks of dealing with my battery dying by 1pm while at work, I'm jumping in.

I've got the files downloaded, ran my gscript and creating my nandroid backup.

Just not sure if I'm going to dive into KaosFroyo, Evil Eris 3.0 or XDR.

I really need to get a screen shot program & will get you some pics of my rooted phone!
    :loony:
    I just maybe crazy.

Hope it works out well for you. :)

What programs, widgets, settings did you have before you rooted?

Swype keyboard - it's not an official market app, so it doesn't show up on AppBrain

Glad the new ROM is working out.

Nothing on that list strikes me as being a battery hog, unless you set them up to be that way. But Android it self is a battery hog, mostly because of all the games & apps, and tweaking that can be done. It is never ending. :)

I've had battery issues since the beginning - the OS doesn't seem to "learn" my usage, I guess.

I charge all night. At 7, I connect bluetooth to my car for the 45 min drive - only for calls, not to stream music. might have one 5 min call in that time. Get to work, sometime put in wireless mode, sometimes not - it sits on my desk, I might check Home or Yahoo mail (sync every 2-3 hours) and FB a couple times during break. By 1pm it's only got 30% battery left if I'm lucky. So then I have to connect the USB charger on the way home - or I turn off 3G and don't turn on BT.

I don't have FB syncing. I do have the Weather Channel widget (4x1) syncing every 2 hours. I have Bloo syncing every 4 hours. Peep the same. NewsRob is only set for the last 50 unread feeds every 2 hours (maybe more). I had researched & instituted most of the suggestions to increase battery life, still with problems.

I am going to install setCPU and ensure that when my phone is in "sleep" mode, its processor speed is lower - it does get warm even in sleep mode, sometimes - it always has.

If tomorrow keeps up like this weekend - I'm going to know I should've rooted/rom'd sooner!

Oh - and I WON'T be going back, if I can help it.

KaosFroyo gives me access to multiple ActiveSync accounts - I now have my work & home email (and folders), contacts (just using work for now) and calendars (merged).

It also gives me access to look up email addresses from work's Global Address List (GAL) which 2.1 took away.

SOOOO excited! This makes it all worthwhile, IMO. Dude! Sweet!

Still going strong on KaosFroyo2.2. I tried EvilEris 3.0 (a 2.1 ROM) for a day, and went back.

It increased my processing speed (KaosFroyo overclocks to 710, some are pushing closer to 800, but I'm good here). My benchmarking is doubled from the OTA 2.1.

I haven't deleted some of the bloatware yet (AMazon MP3, YouTube, VZW visual voicemail), which will help free up some system processing.

I'll shoot some screenshots & upload them for you to see a little later.
