I'm basically satisfied with the phone, except the backlight. Since you can't see anything without the backlight, does anyone know a way to extent that option more than 20 seconds? I realize it is intended to extend the battery life, but heck, it really is annoying to refresh the screen when it blacks out. Besides, it should be my option how to utilize the battery life.

I agree, I'd like to know if there is any hack out there to override the 20 second timeout. Anyone have an idea?

    Settings > Initial Setup
    Down to
    BacklightText

    Only shows the following choices.

    Off
    5
    10
    20

So I would guess not [IMG]

I agree - the backlight always goes out before I'm ready for it to. I wish they had the option that my old phone (LGTM510) had - where you could have the backlight on whenever the case was open.

This was one of the first things I didn't like about the T720. That backlight deal was annoying to say the least.

I called motorola and verizon customer service and they both told me the sme thing. The backlight is set at 20 seconds because if it were any longer it would use up too much battery power.

Sad but true. Sbort backlight life. Maybe the second time around they will get it right.
