so what are th updates on T-Mobile's outage cuz i have a lot of friends with T-Mobile and i get frustrated when i'm texting them and it just cuts out on them and we have to stop texting
CS has been confessing to an outage that has been happening on and off for the past 2 weeks......data has been working on and off.........and text messaging has been cutting out......specifically to Sprint and Verizon customers
nah Sprint is perfect around here............full coverage almost everywhere and it's all EV-DO Rev A and i'm now on ENSEMBLE
well you prolli wouldn't notice something constant......it's just been random data outages and text messages not sending.........its chronic really
Anything that may have happened during this past week, is likely related to the flooding out in Washington state. It affected T-Mobile's data center among other operations.
yeah.......and it has been kind of carrier specific too like T-Mobile people not being able to text Sprint subs.......its been very sporadic and unpredictable
i honestly dont think it is either but a CS rep confessed that they have been having technical difficulties with their network for the past week and that was 2 weeks ago
Hotspot@Home service has been going on and off this week as well. It hasnt worked since 12pm today. Yesterday it was down for about 6 hours and saturday it was down for about 2-3hrs. I believe this has to do with the recent floods in Washington (as Ed pointed out.) T-mobile cant catch a break, last month it was SMS, MMS, & WAP that were giving me problems (due to them beefing up the network in prep for 3G), this month its UMA. What's next?
and what exactly do you mean beefing up the network.......they havent really made any formal announcements on when the 3G goes online
By beefing up the network, i meant that t-mobile was adding additional equipment at cell sites & swtiches to accomodate 3G & adding more capacity for EDGE since there are now more data users. This came from a Manager at one of the T-Mobile stores. He's been on the money about new sites within the rochester, ny area; problems; ETA to be fixed, etc.If I get any info about the UMA issue, then ill post an update.
that sounds pretty biased....lol..........i have Sprint and have not gotten ripped off yet and i have better service with Sprint than I ever did with T-Mobile.........the only two bad things are the locked phones and carrier firmware and customer service............the former of which is going to be fixed in the coming years
and i did not realize that they actually turned it on..........then why are the phones on the site not being advertised as 3G phones
Yea, its up, but its still going internal testing right now. So far the only 3 cities that are known are NYC, LA, & Miami. Did Sprint take your 1st born child? You've really got it out for them. They aren't being advertised as 3G cause the service isn't public yet. Why sell the service if you have nothing but phones right now? Everyone that I've spoken to in t-mo says to expect an announcement in March 08. Hotspot@Home service is still down right now. A CS rep says that its a nationwide outage and t-mo hopes to have it resolved by midnight tonight. The service has been so popular that it reached full capacity on Saturday, knocking out UMA entirely. Engineers have been working to restore service and add more capacity.
wow i didnt realize something like UMA would be such a hit.... and thats what i meant about being turned on.........its not up for consumer use yet..........then it totally makes sense that the phones aren't advertised as 3G capable.......cuz i thought you meant that it went up for public consumer use
Did Sprint take your 1st born child? You've really got it out for them. Nope..had them and they cancelled my account for no reason. .Told me it was because of an issue with my credit. OK if there was an issue with my credit, then why did they give me 2 lines in the first place?? Cuz they're #*#*#*#
Yea, i was surprised when I heard that UMA was down b/c of that. It still isn't up, and t-mo has no idea when they're going to get it back up. Oh my bad, I didn't know. Down with Sprint!:bomb:
I'm alot happier with tmobile. The onlt prob i have is the outages with picture messaging on some occasions!!!
Until I see evidence that tmobile has turned on 3G everything is in one ear and out the other. Also Cailiff04 I am sorry to hear about your dealings with Sprint.
RJB thats ok...I just recomend alltel vzw tmo and at&t to friends..I tell people to stay away from sprint
prolli a smart decision if you plan to have a lof of dealings with Customer Care.......i got all my problems solved and i have never had a billing mishap......but thats just me........it is unfortunate for some people..........cuz Sprint is such a good carrier...........but there are some serious areas where they need to improve
