Looking at the T-Mobile website, it seems like they now also have the fewest dropped calls...Now both Cingular and T-Mobile advertise the fewest dropped calls...Who is next? LOL. http://www.t-mobile.com/promotions/coverage1.aspx
Well, you know what Yankees, you can't blame them...Look at Cingular's Claim... But I guess Cingular was the first one to come up with it...we gotta give'em that.
There is just no such thing as the carrier with the fewest dropped calls. Every carrier preformes better than all the others in specific areas, no one will ever be able to say for sure who has the best coverage.
Wirelessly posted (Walkguru's: LG-CU500 Obigo/WAP2.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 UP.Link/6.3.0.0.0) Yes and i agree.
Wirelessly posted (Q's Mobile Device: Nokia6010/1.0 (8.62) Profile/MIDP-1.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0) In T-Mobile's case, a call can't be dropped if it can't be made. T-Mobile's network is great wherever you can get a signal though.
It is my understanding that they're only using this tagline in some markets, maybe where they did well with the JDPA awards? Well that's what I heard, then again it is on their site.
I wonder if the page comes up based on the zip code you enter for plans, etc? Finally, TM is pushing the (worthless) marketing hype like everyone else.... *sigh*
I think all carriers should give me a phone and I'll figure out who has the least dropped calls. "#1 in fewest dropped calls, as ranked by J.D. Hooligan and associates." That's what I'm talking about.:browani: It seems like they never tell you which "independant company" ranked this garbage, anyway.
Haha man that would be awesome and okay with me. The reason they don't tell you which "independent" company ranked the garbage is because its a company that is on that carriers' payroll.
Yea...thats to be expected...T-Mo is usually last to the ring with things like this (3G anyone?)...I can't wait for them to start saying they've got the biggest coverage area of any cell carrier in the US. :lmao:
i agree as well Yeah they may have good value but they do take a long time to catch on........they only recently started coming out with EDGE and UMTS is out of the question
Well didnt they buy a whole bunch of licenses in September for their 3G network? They did give a 2007 date for it...but well see.
I don't know what's going on, but aside from having the fewest dropped calls, people have been reporting today (over at the "other" site) that they have been able to access WAP sites on T-Mobile To Go prepaid, that they could not access before. Up to now, it's been limited to CNN, ABCNews, ESPN and other sites for wallpaper and ringtones. I dug out a prepaid T-Mobile phone (which has time on it) and sure enough, I was able to access WA's WAP site, the "other" site's WAP site, as well as the WAP site of a local newspaper. The stock quote link on the newspaper's WAP site redirects to yet another WAP site and that WAP site worked as well. I was not able to access Yahoo though. Something is indeed WAPpening.
Wirelessly posted (Q's Mobile Device: Nokia6010/1.0 (8.62) Profile/MIDP-1.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0) I was surprised also... I'm posting from my prepaid phone. I checked my email on Yahoo using the link i got in my text message. When i tried 2 go 2 the other forum, the phone crashed on me. I really hope that they are going 2 be more open with the WAP. I'll enjoy this while is lasts.
did they get those in the fcc auctino that i heard was going on? or did they get them by purchasing from another company who was being charitable???
Wirelessly posted (Walkguru's: LG-CU500 Obigo/WAP2.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 UP.Link/6.3.0.0.0) Tmo has a long way to go.
Rumor is TM will announce UMTS plans on Friday http://www.mobileguerilla.com/articles/2006/10/04/t-mobile-to-announce-umts.php
Come on guys, let's be a little fair here. t-mobile has invested heavily into their nationwide network, and while it is a 100% PCS network, in most areas they natively cover it is excellent, in areas I travel to it's even better than Cingular native coverage, quality wise. Roaming wise, T-Mobile roams on most carriers, if not all that Cingular roams on, so while Cingular may have a larger nationwide network, OVERALL, coverage wise, there isn't all that much difference. Sure, T-Mobile is lagging behind 3g wise, but quality/coverage wise they are doing an awesome job in many areas around the country.
i agree.......they have large coverage for the single thing that phones started out as.........devices for voice communications.... they have good coverage......and they may be lagging in the EDGE and UMTS race but they have a lot better value than any other nationwide company in the entire US and thats what customers like........more for less
of course, walkguu...........youre in Oklahoma..........i live in Pennsylvania and the nationwide coverage for almost all companies is really good up here or the coverage looks thicker because there are mountains and they have to work more to fill in mountains and valleys.....i didnt have a single problem with tmo and if there wasnt tmo coverage i roamed on IMMIX.....a local provider for my county and the surrounding 9 counties
Ill second that Smartest...T-Mobile hasnt been around as long as the big 3, and they are usually playing catch up when it comes to technology, for now they have roaming agreements to fill in most of (not all of) the big coverage gaps that they have for now, and looking at walkgurus coverage (w/o roaming) on t-mobile is almost nil, so thats to be understood...we'll see how things go with 3g on friday.
i've used tmobile for 3+ years, and i had less than 10 drop calls. but i lived around los angeles. so maybe that can be a good reason why.
yeah.......most carriers have better native coverage up here in the New Angland states anmd out on the west coast..........other than that its all along major interstate routes and in major cities........there are exceptions of course
