It seems T-Mobile already has EDGE ready in NJ/NYC. My phone displays the EDGE icon instead of GPRS when I roam on the T-Mobile network.

There are many cities where users have reported EDGE on a few towers. From what I have heard, the network has been done (installed) for some time....they are just testing, etc. When do they go live? I've heard everything from August - Q1 2006.

Well, in most of the L.A. area EDGE seems to be running. Of course this is because T-Mobile inherited the Orange network which was already EDGE capable. That little "E" is lit up on my V635. Now whether the speed is EDGE fast, I have no idea. I don't use my phone for web browsing.. :( , but I could if I wanna. :p
