I have a Verizon family share plan and want to switch the secondary number to the primary number. Does anyone know if this is possible and if so how do I go about doing it?

I tried contacting Verizon by phone but kept getting transferred, became frustrated and hung up. I tried email from their site but haven't heard from them in 24 hours so I'm hoping someone here might have the answer.

I like the coverage Verizon provides but customer service seems to be another story.

call up customer service, tell them what you want and they should be able to do it. just do it on your bill cycle date to avoid prorates.

i do this occassionally for customers myself

Yes you can switch numbers. I did it to my plan.

I strongly advise that you wait until your payment date to do it to avoid any pro rating of your contract.

Be aware that you might be voiding your old contract and beginning a new one. Your contract date might change and you might lose any advantages you might have had under your old contract such as off peak starting times. If this is so note if the changes are a big disadvantage to you.

Be sure to ask if you are keeping the same terms and dates if you change primary numbers.

    Hope this helps

Hi, Thanks to all for the helpful replies!

I got through to customer service yesterday and confirmed what you both told me. I was told that changing the number would begin a new service term. I am at 22 months of a 24 month contract and want to take advantage of the NE2 credit to upgrade the phone that is currently on the second line. I was told the best way to do this was to wait till the billing cycle was up (8/15) and then use the upgrade on the primary number then switch the numbers and the phones.

The ultimate goal is to replace my aging but still reliable Timeport 8767 with the new V710.
