Does anyone know how many times per month or ever, you can switch phones with the ESN online with Verizon?
there is no limit, i switched between my lg6k, my lg4400, my v60i, and my audi-9500 all time, so switch- away
When trying out that non Scottish piece of crap Nokia 3589i, I switched back and forth about 20 times in one day...never heard anything about it.
LOL............that was funny yeah Scenicroadways, switch with confidence, there is no fee, i've been switching phones like crazy, before they do start charging us............J/K serious though been doing for months, no fees.
Switched between my v120e, my v60i, and my t720 about 2 times a day, for 3 weeks solid, NO charges, all went through seemlessly. Good luck!
naa i barely use my 9500 anyway, just when i want a good looking color screen once in a while and free yahoo wap. You should just keep it, its definetly a unique phone.
Cool!! So you can do this yourself?!! I've heard before that you can switch between phones endlessly, but I DIDN'T know you could just buy phones and do it yourself .... I thought you had to go trough some kind of "initial setup" at a VZW store, or on the phone with Verizon CS. So, you can just buy phones like crazy and switch to your heart's content?!! Yay!!!
You need to make sure the phone is VZW compatible...if the Ebay phone doesn't say VZW or CDMA, then most likely you'll have problems getting it to work or it won't work at all...But you can get some real deals off Ebay...I bought a v60i & switched it over to VZW (it was originally Alltel).
Oh yeah, I know, I wasn't gonna try to activate a Cingular on Verizon or anything I was just surprised to hear that you can buy AND activate a phone without having to go through a Verizon person of some sort. That's TOO cool!! Now I'm all excited!!
Yeah it is cool! Real easy too...and if for some reason the phone won't use the *228 command (as mine didn't! ) , you can call the CS rep line &/or go directly into a VZW store & they'll hook you up! Have fun!
Considering how many times i have changed ESN over the internet (2-5 minute process by the way.) My bill would have realy $ucked some months.
Ceno: I was just thinking the same thing..saw a friend's old old bill, where he got charged for one...and I was adding up how many I'd done, my bill would have been like $900.00. LOL. OhOh: Can't remember any specific instances where I might have helped, but, You're Welcome
I got 3 Verizon's phone, I like to do the switch among them too!!!! Can someone tell me where do I go on VZW's website or give me the exact http addy to do the ESN swap?? thanks Angela
You have to go to the verizon website, and sign up for their online account services. This way you can look at, pay, and compare your bills online. This will gain you access to the ESN swap portion of the site. If you need further help, don't hesitate to post your question! H.T.H, Good luck!
~Angela once you're registered to Verizon's online customer service, go to "Quick Links" and choose "activate phone" option on the lower right hand side of your screen and just follow the instructions, then is just a matter of entering your ESN and then for reason just enter "OTHER"
Here is a question for you Tony. Say you have your V60i activated and someone sends a pix message to you. Does that message stay on Verizon's servers until you re-activate you VX6000. Or does the pix message just not go through?
good question Aje, yes you can, but Instead of being able to view the picture message on your phone, you will receive a text message telling you how to view the picture message online at Pix Place using a computer.
Oh yeah I knew that. Woops, I guess I was just thinking about phone switching instead of how the application actually works. Oh well maybe that will help someone else
The address is Cell Phones, Mobile Phones and plans for Personal - Verizon Wireless You will need to sign up for "My Account" first before you can change ESN numbers on line. Follow these steps: 1)Go to the "Manage Your Account" section to the right side in that link above, and either register or sign in. 2)Once you have logged in, click on the "Activate a New phone" link. 3)Next, click on "Existing or Replacement equipment". 4)Select a "Reason for Change" from the menu options. 5) Enter the ESN number of the handset that you would like to activate. 6) Wait at least 5 minutes, and then dial *228, option 1 to program your handset. ***If you receive an error message telling you that, your handset was unable to be programed, you will need to call customer service at 1-800-922-0204, and have one of the reps. change the ESN number for you......It is important that you tell the Rep. the exact error code that you received while trying to change the ESN number yourself, in order to avoid the $20.00 fee that Verizon now charges.
