I got mine when I when I ported my BHC # over from Sprint to Cingular. $250 with a one year contract w/ $50 rebate & $50 Cingular gift card at Best Buy. And the Cingular V600 comes unlocked. :)

I no my story is no help, but the best deals I have seen for it are through Amazon ($100 after rebates). Also T-Mobile's special they are running is nice, with the $50 rebate & free HS810 bluetooth handsfree. Also if Tucson or may be Phoenix has an Asian center you may be able to pick one up for $50 or so. Of course these prices are for upgrades & new activations.

One more caveat, I am an existing T-Mobile customer, and I am not eligible for discounts...

My wife was looking for a new phone - we contacted our local ATT rep who generally dealt with the foundation accounts at our company, and he agreed to pricematch any online offer. We found a free V600 deal at wirefly.com and gave him the URL - he matched it - free V600 with 18% off on the 39.99 plan and a 1 year contract!

You might want to see if your rep would pricematch online deals - it sounded like the store manager had some discretion on whether he would allow this or not, or maybe we just caught him on a good day!

Oh sorry.... I posted in haste. I was talking about ATT, not T-Mo. Sorry about that! Ignore what I just said - it probably is not applicable to T-Mo. I wish there was a button to delete posts....

Scrumhalf - That is a good idea for any carrier when you are still in contract. It never hurts to talk to someone. :)

az - If Scrumhalf advise fails, then the only place I could think of would be eBay. Any retail store will charge you full retail ($300-$350). :(

Yep I definitely have found out that full price is the best they will do for someone in a contract. I know there are sites out there other than ebay that offer better deals. These are what I am looking for...

I guess I was misleading in my note - we opened a new GSM account, and that probably was the reason we got a good deal. I don't know if I would have got the same deal if we were upgrading our phone - I seriously doubt it.

If you are on 39.99 or higher plan (69.99 for family plan) and at least 11 months since last upgrade you can get the new customer price, which is $250 AR. However, you might be able to do a bit better in a TM retail store.

I have checked many websites over the last few days and have not found anything less than about $275-$300 for a V600 where you are not activating a new line of service. Ebay seems good, but I am still looking for other places to look. Let me know.

If you meet the requirements above, you can get the phone for $299, then a $50 rebate, final price $249 directly from t-mobile. Is ebay cheaper?

They can be, however they are usually right around $200-$250 depending on what software it has.

From T-Mo Customer Care as an upgrade, but I don't recommend it.

Don't recommend what? The V600 or getting the upgrade from Customer Care?
