How about we buy both and then build a national carrier out of it? I'm sure we have enough geeks here to get it done...

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. Now we need to be careful in doing ths so we don't make the share price skyrocket. Actually, maybe we don't even need to buy them to make an incredible profit. We start a rally on Suncom. Once the day traders start buying it we all sell. Instant profit.

The rumours of Suncoms demise has been around since early '01. For the longest I was convicne DT/T-MoUS would be ones to put them out their misery but somehow someway they keep sticking around.

Yeah, somehow they manage to hang in there. It certainly wasn't because of thier coverage or customer service. My brother in law had them years ago and it was nothing but trouble. He ditched them as soon as his contract was up.

I have heard rumors Dobson is looking at Suncom, but nothing official on either of their websites.

Sprint PCS - happily holding crystal clear calls!
I have heard the same CellOneTech - would be great IMO.

I love Dobson - they are a great carrier, and have awesome coverage! - now if they could only purchase Unicel.

At this point anyone purchasing SunCom would be a good thing (anyone still up for it?) but unicel has built a strong network, esp. in Vermont. I dont think there gonna be bought out so easily.

I hope whoever buys it, invests in it! Would Dobson dump money into Suncom's network? And enough money to make it worth a crap?

Dobson has worked miracles with NPI (GSM 1900) and RFB (800/1900 CDMA ONE).

I don't see a Dobson/SunCom deal happening -- Dobson is primarily a rural carrier while SunCom is not really one, SunCom's footprint isn't very close to any other Dobson properties, and T-Mobile needs the area much more than Dobson does.

The New York Stock Exchange will resume trading shares of SunCom Wireless Holdings Inc., the company said Wednesday.

Trading of SunCom's Class A common stock was suspended Dec. 19 because it did not meet the exchange's market capitalization standard, the company said. Since then, shares have been traded on the OTC Bulletin Board.

SunCom appealed the exchange's suspension, and the company said its stock will resume trading Friday with the ticker symbol "TPC."

SunCom Wireless Holdings, based in Berwyn, serves more than 1 million wireless subscribers in the southeastern United States, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
