My Motorola V505 worked on Suncom MMS ok.

Now I am using a T-mobile MDA on Suncom (same account). It works fine on phone and web browsing, text messages, etc. But, I can not get it to send an MMS message.

    Any ideas?

    Yeah,
Ok start your messaging client (top left button if everything is default)

Go To Menu - MMS Configuration then to the "Servers" tab and then click New.

    Server Name: Suncom MMS
    Gateway: 066.150.033.115
    Port number: 9201
    Server Address: http://mms.suncom.net:8088/mms
    Wap Version: 2.0

Set connect via to your current GPRS/EDGE connection and the size limit should be 300k,

    Hopefully that should do it.

That is pretty much what I have been trying.

Server Name: I think you can call it anything, but I have tried using Suncom MMS

Gateway: 066.150.033.115 - tried that, also triedGateway: 066.150.033.125 which is the IP Suncom gives on their web site.

Server address is the one I have been using.

    Wap Version, tried 1.2 and 2.0, this changes the Port number 1.2 = 9201, 2.0 = 8080

Still no send, message stays in Outbox.

Ok, that wasn't mentioned above, first of all is your account provisioned for media messages, and second, how are your networks setup?

Yes, the account has MMS, and it did work on my Motorola V505, but have not been able to get it to work on the MDA.

I have the MMS set up like Suncom says to, which is to use GPRS.

nKrypteD1 hasn't been around much lately, he had some traveling to do and he was especially a huge help in matters such as this. Maybe somebody else has some ideas?? I'm not sure when nKrypteD1 was going to return though.

Maybe it's an issue with that phone on the network. I do know a couple people around the Winston-Salem area with SunCom but they've never had any such problems. Sorry I can't be of more help with the specific issue.

I recently got one of my daughters an MDA like mine. She is also using it on Suncom.

Everything is working for both of us, except neither of us can send MMS messages.

I have spent a lot of time trying the settings Suncom and others suggest, but no luck.

Do you think Suncom has to set something to tell their system what kind of phone we are using?

MMS worked on our Motorola V505 phones.

    Hi RikR,
Have you solved this problem yet? I've run into similar problems in the Greenville SC area with SunCom MMS Settings. Have you tried the SunCom configurator web page yet? Sometimes I have success with that.

I have not solved it. I have tried the configurator.

I keep hoping I'll get my hands on a SunCom Kjam one day long enough to look at the settings in it.

We've got a cell phone repair shop in Greenville SC and are a SunCom dealer. I'm the hacker-, configurator-, modder-, unlocker-guy here. If I get my hands on an mda, I'll pass the info on to you.

The thing that worries me is that perhaps suncom is kicking the message back because of the device, the settings you've gone through are the correct settings and as such should work. Best wishes.

Yeah, I have basically the same problem on my Motorola L6...

I finally got the internet to work on it last night, but MMS, to no prevail.

If I send it, I see it connecting, the percentage bar fills up to 100% and then says "Unable to send, Resend Now?" etc.

So I dont know why it doesn't work, possibly just have the wrong setting, does anybody have a L6 with working Suncom MMS settings? Or any other help appreciated.

I would call Customer SUpport, as my phone (8125) did this with cingular once, turned out to be bad provisioning.

I just called them, SunCom doesn't fully support the L6 though (only L2) so the guy sent me a update anyways but the update failed since its not a L2 :(

Guess ill have to live without MMS, lol

I had a similar problem on a SLVR or RAZR the other day. After beating my head against the wall for about 30 minutes, I discovered that I had put a , rather than a . (old eyes) in the URL (http://mms.suncom.net:8088/mms). The bar filled to 100% and then the message was rejected.

    Hope this helps.

I have achieved some success. I can now send MMS!

The secret was apparently entering the url for the gateway with no leading zeros.

Here is what I have entered 66.150.33.115

This now sends the MMS and I have a confirmation that it was received.

I can still not receive an MMS. I get the notification, but can not download the actual message.
