It got up to 108 degrees here in central AR..... With our humidity, it's horrible. Hear it's susposed to cool off a little by this weekend though.
The heat streak continues in the Inland Empire. Today we baked under 115 degrees with humidity making it feel like 120!!! I'm not making it up. At 5pm, the outside temperature showing in my car said 113. Whoopie, it had dropped a whopping 2 degrees. Ok, stick a fork in me, I'm done...:bomb:
It was the nearly the same out here (117 but felt like 120). Just walking from the bus to my apartment killed me this afternoon. I feel sorry for my mom. She has to go wait for the bus to go to work in the peak of the afternoon. By the time she gets there she is soaked.
118 in Phoenix today. Shattered the old record of 112, and the 118 ties for the 4th hottest day ever in Phoenix. On the pavement I'm inclined to believe the actual temperature was closer to 150 degrees. My feet were in physical pain walking across a parking lot the ground was so hot.
The heat is really unbearable here in Cologne in the mornings. At the moment, the nightly temps have barely dropped below 70° and in the morning, they're already up to 75° with 32% humidity. Cologne is also located in a small valley so we don't get too much wind here when the heat is trapped.
So far today, the high was 117, with a heat index of 121...Mindblowing!! This has to be an all-time record in my area. It is 116 at this moment, according to the Weather Channel. Below is the "Excessive Heat Warning", issued by the National Weather Service, we are under today /O.NEW.KSGX.EH.A.0003.060723T1900Z- 060724T0200Z/ /O.CON.KSGX.EH.W. 0003.000000T0000Z-060723T0200Z/ SAN BERNARDINO AND RIVERSIDE COUNTY VALLEYS-THE INLAND EMPIRE- SAN DIEGO COUNTY VALLEYS-SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY MOUNTAINS- RIVERSIDE COUNTY MOUNTAINS- SAN DIEGO COUNTY MOUNTAINS- APPLE AND LUCERNE VALLEYS-COACHELLA VALLEY- SAN DIEGO COUNTY DESERTS- 200 PM PDT SAT JUL 22 2006 ...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM PDT THIS EVENING... ...EXCESSIVE HEAT WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING... DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS...STAY IN AN AIR- CONDITIONED ROOM...STAY OUT OF THE SUN... AND CHECK UP ON RELATIVES AND NEIGHBORS. NEVER LEAVE PEOPLE OR PETS IN ENCLOSED VEHICLES...EVEN BRIEFLY. As you can see, my area surpassed 115, and it could still get hotter before the sun goes down.
For those that weren't at the meat (GET IT??? ) today... I actually watched the Cooks @ Fuddruckers cook my burger on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant!!! It cooked fast, & I must say... it was quite delicious!!!:browani:  :loony:
It's scary to think that my area was hotter than Laughlin today, not by much, but nonetheless hotter... It is nearly 11pm and it is still 100 degrees. Having been to the Phoenix area, this is normal, but for the Inland Empire, this kind of incredible heat is extremely rare. This is why I'm continually amazed at the wildness of this Summer so far. The even scarier part is that September is our hottest month . Oh well, if anybody needs an egg fried, you've come to the right place...
Today it's only about 102, but it is really cloudy (thunderclouds). The humidity is horrible. The "feels like" heat index temp is 110...ugh. When you are used to dry heat, such as me, this kind of humidity is VERY noticeable. But I know I'll live...
It's been awfully hot here in the UK over the past few weeks. In fact, it has been so hot that there have been reports of roads melting, train tracks buckling and glass falling out of buildings. It got up to around 37 C in London and the South East and here in the Central Belt it has been in the high 20s, which is terribly hot for us. Apparently there is a 10% chance that the UK record of 38.5 C could be beaten. Just to put those temperatures into perspective, the average temperature for London at this time of year is around 23 C, so 37 C is blisteringly hot.
After the clouds moved westward towards Los Angeles, the sun toasted things up a bit. Our final high for the day: 113. With the heat index factored in, it felt like 118. Gotta love that humidity...
This week Mike...we are expected to hit over 100º a day or two...with Heat indexes of 110 or so. I wont be here...I will be in Kentucky from the 31st-Aug 5th.....it may be a bit hotter there!
85% humidity to be exact...this is nuts, i feel like i'm walking through mayonaise outside! bleech!!!!!
It's only 95 deg with 50% humidity. Weatherman said a coldfront came through. At least it's not the triple digits.
It reached 100 today, continuing a streak that has gone on for 46 days. Then the thunderclouds rode in and now it is dark and gloomy but hot and humid. Feels like Florida...
Along the river today it was 108, but the humidity was much higher 40-50%. Going from 15% humidity to 50% in one day has taken a toll on me, I felt like bad all day. It was not a fun day at work, and I'm sooo burned out too.
