    Hi all,

    I'm looking at phones again.

I need some input from the group as to what are some of the best performing Tri-Mode phones

I have the LG AX4750, and it doesn't perform well.

The receiver is sick, I can stand beside another Alltel user with a different phone, and they'll have 3 bars, and I'll have 1.

The LG also cannot connect a call on any signal under 2 bars, even with 2 it will drop the call.

    Any suggestions?

The best one they had was the Moto V710, but you would have to buy one off eBay now. The Motorola V262, the Nokia 6235i are the best new tri-mode phones for reception right now...the newest LG AX355 should have fairly good reception....

lg355 is ok. as with most kyo and lg's its going to be a little weaker than a moto or nokia. is there really any reason why you want a tri mode?? are you way out in the sticks?

I agree with everyone else. A Nokia or Moto would give you the best results.

If I remember right he is in an area that the terrain is hard for carriers to cover well....

    Yep,

I'm way out in the sticks.

I'm right on the border of WV and KY. Right where the National Freedom map changes from dark blue to light blue.

    Funny!!

It's actually quite nice down here. Lots to do. Mountain climbing/hiking, bike trails, lots of fishing.

And, yes, it's really quiet. Only in the secluded parts.

We do have some densely populated areas, however, not so big as say Huntington/Charleston, Lexington, etc.

I do wish Alltel would take advantage of some of the available land down here and place some infrastructure as coverage is a problem here and an issue with several cell users.

Evdo Is Taking Over In My Area. The Moto E815 Is A Great Phone And Is Very Similar To The Moto V710. Good Luck On Choosing A Phone Because No Phone Is Guaranteed To Give Perfect Service. I Have The Audio6700 Smartphone And I Don't Drop Many Calls But When Traveling Out Of My Area I Have Low Antenna Strength. Again Good Luck. :)
