    I've had Verizon for many years but there cost is by far the highest. I am now out of contract. I currently have the 450 min plan plus $10 IN txt + 500 less $8 19% work discount so my bill usually runs a little over $50 with taxes. I have the enV but I want something a little more data friendly. I rarely go over, maybe 2-3 months a year.

    I am considering switching to Sprint, getting the hot new HTC Touch Pro, $70 everything plan with 450 min and I think 25% work discount so $53 plus taxes. I would loose the VZW to VZW calls but I would gain the 7:00pm nights.

    If I stick with VZW, I would probably want the Blackberry Storm, combine with my sister's famiy plan, which would also cost me about $70 for my share when factoring the Blackberry data plan and my share of the family plan. That is for the 2100 min shared among 5 people but two are kids and Im not sure how their usage is. If anything we can bump up to the 3000 min plan which I think would cost me $7 more (1/5 of $40 -19%)

    I know I wrote alot. Posting this thread is kind of like self analyzing the decision. I know Verizon has better reception/coverage than Sprint. I thank anyone who has taken the time to read this and offer advice =)

    Yes, this can be a tough decision. I opened a verizon account on top of my tmobile account b/c I wanted 3g data and most of my friends and family were on the verizon network. Where I live in NYC, verizon coverage is TOPS.

    I will port my tmobile to att next year 'cause I want to keep a gsm phone for travel. I chose ATT b/c most unlocked gsm phones from nokia, htc, samsung, etc. will work on att 3g NOT on tmobile's 1700 3g frequency.

    So after deciding on a phone (which i think is the most important factor), dont forget to factor in
    ---coverage/signal
    ---which carrier most of your friends and family have

    Having said that tmobile and sprint are the most economical. Tmobile to tmobile costs 6.99/month extra but then there is My Faves. Tmobile also changed some of its data plans.

    Sprint everything plan can't be beat but the mass exodus from sprint to other carriers in the 3rd quarter of 2008 and many reports of low stock price makes me wonder how long sprint will last

    With the Sprint Simply Everything Plan is there any need for additional data plan on top of whats included for the HTC?

    I moved to Sprint from Verizon after 7 years. Best move I have made this year. The customer service from Verizon was a joke for the past three months. I am still trying to walk them through the last month billing to get it correct. Guess they need the money for the Alltel deal. The new Sprint plans offer much more value for the price. The new holiday phone deal were better than what good old VZW could come up with for their "new every two." Coverage is as good if not better and the data services blow Verizon away here in Missouri. I found that it pays to shop around for the best deals on Sprint but I am glad to say they earned my five lines of service.

    My biggest concern is reception and mobile to mobile as I know many people on VZW and few on Sprint. In NY, IMO and from what I hear VZW has the best call quality. I am also concerned since not as many people I know have Sprint I will burn more minutes.

    If the old SERO plans were around it would be an easy choice. Taking over someone's seems like a hassle and then I have to worry about getting a phone.

    Does Sprint still offer anything equivalent to "My faves" ?

    In the past, I have had the best luck with billing issues working with the VZW store manager.

    Verizon has always known for being real good in NYC but I have also heard good reviews on Sprint there as well. So if you decide to give Sprint you probably won't be disappointed. Let us know what you decide to do.
