    Hi all
This is my first post so be gentle with me.
I have a Jaguar Startac 130 phone and it has just stopped working in that it recognises the sim card at first then when it goes searching for the network it comes up with "unregistered sim card"
If I try the card in another phone it works fine so it has got to be a problem with the phone.
It is quite old now and I wouldn't normally bother but it is so easy when you are in the car as it all operates through the radio screen and speakers.
    Anybody got any suggestions please.
    Regards
    Ian

    Thanks for the reply.
No it wasn't a new one , the phone had functioned perfectly for a year or so with the same sim card. Then it just started coming up with the message "unregistered sim card".

not sure about the gsm models, but the cdma ones can be opened by sliding the back cover up while pushing down. mabey take an old giftcard and wrap it with a coffee filter covered in rubbing _______ and slide it in a few times to clean it.

I think, insert another sim, if it not work, may be hardware problem.

Tried another SIM and got the same result wheras the original sim works fine in another phone so it is definitely a problem with the Startac phone, either contacts or hardware/ software.
    Thanks
