Is there a start-up sound on the 5500? And is it long and is there a way to silence it and if it is on Silent will it still make the sound when turning on and off?

OK thanks. I have just one more question. My cousin has a Smasung a460 and in my house it gets 1-2 bars on the display but the calls are generally clear. On the 5500 or 5400 do you think the phone will show more or have better signal then that phone?

anything will work better than the a460. You will get MUCH better reception on the 5500 or 5400 compared to the a460.

I guarantee you will see 4 bars with the 5500. [IMG] But yes, just about anything will perform better than the A460. I found the A460 to be a terrible phone as far as reception is concerned, so if your cousin's phone works fine in your house so will the Sanyo.

I used my cousins a460 in a few of the shops in the shopping center real close to my house and the call's would always get dropped. If I got the Sanyo do you guys think it would be able to hold a fairly good call in those area's?

I would say that there is a very good chance a sanyo will hold that call over the a460.
