Stagnation, Growth & Shrinkage

    This is one reason why I don't believe the skewed and often narrow-sighted news articles I read about the smartphone market (or any market for that matter). An informed consumer needs to take all possible measures into account. (Side note: This is why the political scene in the USA is able to deceive so many with their rhetoric -- they know it is impossible for anyone to know all the facts and working stiffs have no time to research it all.)

    So while sales may be going "soft" from one perspective, they are still growing (showing strength) from another. Note how Samsung and Apple hold the top 2 spots in the following report:
