Cellular One is typically associated with TDMA networks (ATT and Cingular--midwest). In Northern Calif the former Cellular One name was partially owned by ATT and McCaw. ATT now bought out McCaw and it is all ATT.

I don't know about Sprint in your specific area. They tend to be more focused on large-population areas but are growing fast. Customer service seems to be one of the main complaints nationwide.

Stay with cellular one. Like kevin said sprint is good in major cities. With sprint when you go into analog you pay for it. "If it ain't broke dont fix it"

Can you be more specific about where in western AZ? The southern half of the state is going through some changes. Some Cellular One properties have been sold to Verizon, but not yet transferred. When they do, you will have to trade in your TDMA phone (if that's what you are using) and get a new CDMA phone.

Sprint in Western AZ only follows the interstates. Look at Sprint's coverage maps on their web site. Otherwise, where they cover, there have been few complaints about Sprint there. OTOH, their are very few locals who use Sprint, there. It is mostly people from LA or Phoenix who drive through on I-5/I-10.

Most likely, the 2 best carriers where you are are Verixon and Alltel.
