Sprint Nextel to Sell HTC-Branded 3G Phones in USA Taiwan's High Tech Computer will sell its own-brand third-generation mobile phone HTC Vogue in the U.S. through telecommunications operator Sprint Nextel as soon as the end of September or early October, HTC spokesman Hui-ming Cheng said Monday. The product, HTC's first own-brand phone to be sold in the U.S., will also carry Sprint Nextel's brand, said Cheng. HTC, the world's largest contract manufacturer of mobile phones using Microsoft Corp.'s operating system by shipments, has been trying to grow its own-brand products. The company began selling HTC Touch, a phone that uses similar touch screen technology as Apple's iPhone, in June in Europe and Asia. "As (HTC Vogue) is a modification from the 2G version of HTC Touch, it's being released later," said Cheng. HTC had said in June it would launch its own mobile-phone models in the U.S. in the second half. Sprint Nextel to Sell HTC-Branded 3G Phones in USA
Wirelessly posted (Crackberry 8830: BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/104) Does this mean the Razr2's days are numbered RJB??
It will be neat to see how much of an update the Touch UI will recieve. Hopefully it will be a little smaller, use less memory, and the apps included have more options/features. The origional has already been hacked to be used on any WM 5/6 device, and is customizable too. I prefer Mobile Shell, as it is more customizeable & uses less memory. I will be passing on the Vogue, and wait for either another HTC device with keyboard, the new Q, or the new Treo.
Wirelessly posted (Mogul: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; PPC; 240x320) Opera 8.65 [en]) my Mogul is branded HTC. Is sprint not marketing it that way?
You know I am with you on this one as much as I would like to have a touch screen for everything I would wait a few months before I would think about getting this.
Nothing like adding other mobile kiddies to the mix. The more (phones) the merrier, I say...:browani:
