Can anyone tell me if their Sprint wireless phones work in the underground metro stations (particularly orange line to Vienna). Do only specific models or types roam underground? Thank you for your assistance.

First and foremost, welcome to wireless advisor!

To the best of my knowledge, Verizon is the only carrier that has service in the underground metro stations here in DC. Therefore, your sprint phone will probably just roam off verizon's towers at no extra charge to you, IF you have a CDMA sprint phone. If you have the nextel brand, your phone is incapable of roaming off verizon towers.

    Hope that helps out!

You can use any Sprint phone underground while on any Metro line in DC. Be sure your phone's roaming setting is set to automatic (or roaming only) so that it allows roaming because you will be roaming digitally on Verizon's network. Most Sprint plans now include free roaming.
