Once again I have asked a Vision technical service rep to help me change my Vision username to something of my choosing, something not lame like the name they assigned me. (Don't write in that you have changed yours five times from the website -- some of us cannot, and the fact that you can does not help me.) I have always been told that Sprint is discouraging Vision customers from changing their Vision usernames. But this week I got the "Big, Scary Story" that this process is not working well right now. In fact, it is working so poorly that trying to change the Vision username crosses 3 platforms, ALL of which may fail. Fail? Yeah, leave the paying customer with NO access to the web for two months. Did I want to chance any of that? If so, she would have gone ahead with me to attempt a change. While I don't happen to believe this "Big, Scary Story," it isn't worth proving to myself that Sprint still does not have their act together regarding Vision. I just told her to forget it. I would stick with my lame Sprint-assigned vision username for now.
i can understand why it is important and i am sorry to hear that you are still having problems. it does seem the problem is much more isolated now but still i am amazed at how come sprintpcs cant solve certain problems like this in months across the board.
Have you ever tried to change your master user name at your ISP? Most won't do it, other than by cancelling your account completely and starting a new one. Of course ISP's generally let you add other user names, so you can end up with one more to your liking. Sprint may also be unable to change the "master" user name, so they should be more flexible in choosing the name in the first place or allow people to add additional user names.
