Amen!! I don't understand why Sprint priced so high. $40 for 20MB, $60 for 40MB, $80 for 70MB and $100 for 300MB seems odd considering what the competition (GPRS, 1X and EDGE) offers. They are charging more than $1 per MB until you go to the $100 plan which gives you 3MB for a dollar. I guess these plans must be selling otherwise I assume we would have seen a price drop. I do however agree with you 1900mhzcdma, lower the prices and get more customers. I refuse to pay any of those prices for my PDA hence the reason I choose to get a bluetooth phone and hope that Sprint doesn't implement this rumored 3MB cap.

Yes it is rather new here, but consumers are not exactly beating the doors down demanding BT. The most knowledgable rep in a local Cingular store said that BT is almost unkown in this area, although people in LA are aware of it. I have not seen the GSM carriers here making much of an effort to promote BT. How many AWE or Cingular ads tout BT as an advantage? Logically, someone should be pushing BT in the tech savy California market, but I have not seen it. I have seen the new Nokia ads with Snoop Dog, but there is no mention of BT.

Lack of adoption is an indication of lack of consumer interest rather than a conspiracy.

And if this phone starts jumping off the shelves into the hands of consumers, do you think Verizon will ignore it? Let's see how Sprint's sales of their BT phone go.

I goofed by not specifying that I meant the handset market. Ericsson is a major player in the infrastructure market, and for this reason I own Ericsson stock. However, their infrastructure success has not spilled over into Ericsson's or SE's handset sales.

I will forgive you for omitting Japan from you list of CDMA countries (this was not your only omission.).

In the 3rd Qtr of 03, SE's worldwide handset market share dropped to 6th behind LG, Siemens, Samsung, Motorola, and Nokia. In the US market, Siemens is replaced by Kyocera, leaving SE in 6th place. In Asia with many strong local handset suppliers in China, Taiwan, Korea and Japan, SE is indeed a minor player.

The Nov-03 J D Power Survey of customer satisfaction showed SE 8th out of 8.

I was really hoping that the Sony Ericsson venture would be a huge success, but this has not been the case. I was hoping for a Clie phone marketed under the SE banner. Since the Clie was first shown at COMDEX in 2000, it has been a huge success. I thought that a Clie phone would be able to build on this success, but sadly SE has had neither a Clie phone, nor success in the handset market.

I do not dissagree with you about J D Power surveys, however in this case J D Power is at least consistent with SE's market share.

They might have considered the market share when writing up the survey results.

I'll grant you that here. I just hate them so much.
