Thank god the date has been set. You can get the whole story here from Sprint.com Motorola RAZR2 V9m From Sprint Offers Robust Multimedia Content
Wirelessly posted (M610: BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/104) I can't believe Sprint is selling a Motorola device before Verizon!
Re: Sprint Razr 2 V9M realease date!! I remember back in the day it was the norm for Sprint to beat out Verizon on new phone offerings. Verizon used to have a more strict testing policy and as a result would often be 3-4 weeks behind Sprint.
Re: Sprint Razr 2 V9M realease date!! Oh boy. If they make this available through SERO watch out. I'm RAZR'd out, but hopefully it'll sell well for Sprint's sake.
Re: Sprint Razr 2 V9M realease date!! It figures! We just switched to Sprint Monday and bought the Katana Dlx. I have had a few problems with the phone and the Sprint guy told me to wait and see how it is thru the weekend, and if it is still bad Monday to bring it in to swap. AND THEN I read this. Would this phone be better than the Dlx? I know my Nextel phone had a few more features. The Dlx does not have a flash for the camera, and that upset my daughter last night. And it looks like the Rzr. does. Any thoughts? Thanks.
Re: Sprint Razr 2 V9M realease date!! Well since this phone is not out yet noone can really give an honest opinion about it. In my opinion I think it would be a better phone than the DLX I didnt like the DLX much. But when it comes out I will let you know.
Re: Sprint Razr 2 V9M realease date!! Honestly I would hate to have the verizon version of this phone blah.
Re: Sprint Razr 2 V9M realease date!! The Sprint fact sheet says the internal screen is 262k QVGA when other indications point to the v9m series having a 65k QVGA screen for both. What it's really gonna be? http://www2.sprint.com/mr/cmastaticfiles/non-landing/documents/NewsRelease/RAZRV9mFS.pdf
Re: Sprint Razr 2 V9M realease date!! I really think it is going to be 262k since the carrier might have more preference to do this I am thinking.
Wirelessly posted (Crackberry 8830: BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/104) Well since you have 30 days to return phones, you might squeek by and be able to swap them out when they hit the stores September 4. Or you can try to exchange over the phone. Sprint should be accomodating.
Re: Sprint Razr 2 V9M realease date!! Wow sounds like the Verizon version will be greatly stripped down compared to Sprint's!
Wirelessly posted (Crackberry 8830: BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/104) Gee, there's a shock. Verizon used to spend lots of time testing their phones. Now they spend their time crippling them and thinking of ways to squeeze extra money from their customers.
Re: Sprint Razr 2 V9M realease date!! The Sprint version looks really nice. I am excited to see this phone and I am sure RJB will give us a full report when it comes out. I may get one of these. Verizon is going to make a miserable mess of their version from what I have seen.
Re: Sprint Razr 2 V9M realease date!! Ok in 12 or so days I will lol. By the way Cnet has a review and video of this phone Motorola Razr2 V9m (Sprint) Reviews. Cell Phones Reviews by CNET.
Re: Sprint Razr 2 V9M realease date!! Does anyone think that since Sprint is the first one to offer this, it was on behalf that they were one of the very last ones to offer the original razr? I mean it was 2 years after the first one came out.
Re: Sprint Razr 2 V9M realease date!! Sorry for being a troll in this thread but to give some insight since I am a big fan of this phone. I have come to find out that the menu lag the V3M suffers from does not appear to have this problem on the v9m. This to me is a huge selling point for those of us that make a cell phone our lives lol. Also I have been getting about a 50/50 consensous that the crystal talk technology will be integrated on this phone. On the motorola website it says that it is not on this version but other places it does. If anyone comes across an owners manual post it so we can get answers.
Re: Sprint Razr 2 V9M realease date!! I most likely will not be buying the v9m. New or not, the RAZR is sooo played out. I don't subscriber to any wireless TV or video services and I'm not a big fan of a device that is a big fingerprint magnet on the front. The phone is thin, but when opened up is longer than my face. The only service I'd pay for that might look good on this type of clamshell would be a GPS/Navigation system if it works with the flip closed and on the external screen. I hear Sprint has a pretty good audible turn by turn navigation system similar to VZ Nav. I know my fellow management will ask that I order a few of these (only the VZW or at&t version) to test and play with, but I'd rather have a CDMA Pearl or Curve with EVDO.
Re: Sprint Razr 2 V9M realease date!! You know, from the glimpse i saw in the video it seems like they finaly managed to speed up the menus a bit. But I still don't know how it does with lists. I am somewhat interested though.
Re: Sprint Razr 2 V9M realease date!! I really wish these CDMA versions for U.S. carriers had GSM/EDGE support for global roaming. Sprint/Verizon etc are still ceding the market for customers with such an interest to ATT and T-Mo.
Re: Sprint Razr 2 V9M realease date!! Well honestly if someone needed a phone for global raoming then buy a cheap unlocked gsm phone. Not to hard to get that.
Re: Sprint Razr 2 V9M realease date!! Well my plan as of right now is to order this wednesday cant wait. I will also be excited to give a full review. The thing that stinks though it that it will come in the morning and I have to sit at work until I can get it that night blah.
Re: Sprint Razr 2 V9M realease date!! Can you have it delivered to work??? I've done that before with phone deliveries, but I realize it depends on where you work. I worked in an office where receiving packages wasn't an issue. Oh well, at least you'll have something really cool to look forward to when you get home.
Re: Sprint Razr 2 V9M realease date!! True, but that means a totally different number. If the phone had 900/1800 GSM it could be used abroad with the same number you use at home.
Re: Sprint Razr 2 V9M realease date!! I'm guessing that the few phones Sprint & Verizon have carried with this capability have not done too well. Maybe the BB8830 will change that. I remember when I had the Samsung SCH-a790, very few people in CS had any clue what to with anything having to do with that model. Granted it was the very first of it's kind at the time, but still, I quickly grew weary with the service and the phone, replacing it after about 6 months. Would be nice if they could have the global capability with the RAZR2 V9M, but it probably would make the phone too thick and too expensive for it's target market. Alas, one can dream...
