Alamosa PCS and Ubiquitel PCS are two Sprint affiliates here in the West that are doing well and have good networks amd I think offer off-network roaming plans. I guess we're lucky out here to have some better affiliates.

Yes I've always heard pretty good things about Alamosa....Ubiquitel...has had some cash flow problems, but nothing a little "restructuring" didn't fix.

Airgate PCS is the affiliate in my area, they have a pretty good network...put poor management, that got them into a deal to buy ipcs, which went south as soon as it was purchased...That same year the CEO got a 1 million dollar bonus...six month later they cut their workforce in half.....

I like to change my number every 12 to 18 months. If I start getting sales calls from someone I may have given the number to for other purposes such as a credit application then it is time for a new number. Their may be some people that I don't want to have my number anymore so I like to keep changing my number and then give it out to only those I want to have it.

I think Sprint will do fine. They have a much better network than T-mobile (in many areas). I do think they need better plans. 40$ should get at least 500 minutes ala Cingular GSM, which in many areas may have better coverage than Sprint and cheap phones.
