Sprint PCS Roaming Option

Discussion in 'Southern US Wireless Forum' started by DarrylLeeOHS30, Jun 9, 2005.

  1. My friend's dad that lives in Knoxville has sprint, and for her birthday he got her a cell phone like a family share-line from his plan, and because sprint doesn't have service where we live at..it has the $5/mo roaming option, but does anyone know if free nights and weekends count when its in digital roam on verizon? we know i think 50% of anytime minutes do. thanks

Roaming Always Comes Out Of Your Daytime Minutes. Even On The Weekends.

Roaming with Sprint is 50% of your TOTAL usage per month, if you roam near 100% for a while, not sure how much they'll like that.

This recently changed; see this post at HoFo, or your next bill, which will break down roaming into N&W and anytime. A very nice change, though I've never been even close to going over anyway.

What I've seen is that if you go over the 50% for 3 months straight, Sprint CS will call you and tell you to knock it off.

Of course, YMMV in affiliate markets.

Well I guess it's about time Sprint changes their roaming a little. Let me summarize:
Verizon and Cingular don't have roaming rules at all as far as I know
T-Mobile just started counting M2M CALLS on some networks
So it sure is a welcome change on Sprint's side, since they also have a 50% roaming rule. Hopefully they will start counting PCS2PCS calls sometime.

Sprint needs to get with the ball game and start doing the 50% roaming option.

That is another reason that I prefer Verizon over Sprint....and because the last time I checked, Sprint sucked in my house and in my neighborhood. ;) :p

Lol, I'm sure they added a tower by now since you were finally allowed to leave ;)

BTW, I've seen their new No Roam Maps you were telling me about a while ago...not bad, I'm gonna switch ;)

    Oh you did?

    Cool.

Well we are going to pay $350 to Verizon and our last bill and cancel today....j/k....:p ;)

No roam. That might be true, but they are forgetting all of their analog coverage.

I am sure that they have added a tower, but the tower that they were going to add (from what a tech. rep. told me) was going to be 4 miles away. So I doubt that it would have helped me, but you never know. :lmao:

    Cool.

I am glad that Sprint is working out for you.

Unfortunately, my experience with Sprint was a different story.

Sprint in Knoxville is great, no doubt.. I've had them for quite awhile and haven't had any real coverage issues. On the other hand, you being in SW FL, I can understand having problems. I have a friend who lived in Port Charlotte and her mom had Sprint... Hated it.. dropped calls like crazy.. ended up switching to another carrier (maybe Alltel?) and hasn't had problems since.
