Even standard Vision is much faster than EDGE. Cingular is just slow, or all of my phones were. Power Vision is super-fast lol! The evdo coverage is a lot more widespread than the map suggests as well. In fact, the tower south of my town has it, but not the western or northern one, but not bad. My number hasn't ported....and I don't think it will till Easter Sunday, which sounds fishy....and I bet it won't port. The a920 is really nice. Everyone was amazed that a phone could do all of that. My friend just got LG the V on Verizon and was angry that EVDO isn't anywhere in mid Delaware! Thus making his phone useless in advanced features. HOW DO U CHANGE THE SUB LCD ON AN A920? Yeah...it just gives me "assign screen saver first"...duh wtf does it think I'm trying to do. It's driving me insane that I can't change it, makes me feel retarded.
Yup Im gone. Too many service hiccups. What's the point of having 5000 towers in Delaware, if your phone still sounds like poop. It'll save me about $23ish dollars a month, and I get a lot more for the money.
The website Larry gave you will point you the right way. You just need to enter the email address of a Sprint employee that is willing to refer you to the program- there is a thread here which explains how to get the info.
Thanks Larry for the info...do you know if I can get the 7pm free night & weekend min. with the sero plans?
Took a couple days for my gf's port from VZW to Sprint to go through. It was completed on a Sunday. Sorta. lol. She got a call from Verizon this week asking why she had not paid her bill since January and that her phone was about to be shut off. Apparently Verizon never quite cancelled out her line when the number was ported to Sprint. Just for fun she tried using her old VZW phone and found she could still make outgoing calls (all incoming calls and texts go to the Sprint phone). Weirdness!
Congrats on the move to Sprint Airb. I think that I am going to sign up for a Sprint Sero plan on April 24. It takes 2 days to get shipped to your house, so I should have it by Wednesday, so I can test out the coverage on my campus Thursday when I have my last final. If Sprint works out for me, I will cancel Verizon. If not, then I will return Sprint within the 14 day trial period.
No, you can get 6 PM nights for free! All I did was ask Sprint through email and I got them for free. I called up Sprint CS to get my number ported Thursday night. I just figured the email I got from Inphonic was BS about porting on Sunday. So far, everything's great. Ringer could be a little bit louder on the a920. Battery life SUCKS. I don't know how people survive with the a900 then. I miss GSM on that account for sure.
I've been impressed with the battery life on my 9000 considering i use it to play mp3's with my 2gb memory card. I got 6pm nights for free too...ain't it grand?
How do you get 6 pm n&w minutes for free? The e-mail I sent to the SERO e-mail address said that they would be $10/month extra. Also, does anyone know if I can port my number over (for a fee) after the trial period if I decide to keep Sprint? Thanks in advance for anyone's help.
I am not sure about the 6pm N&W on SERO, but the port will be free. I ported my mom's Cingular number over to Sprint in January on a exsisting line. I did have to renew the contract, but I didn't mind as I was switching plans too. I will be asking for the 6pm N&W though as my bill has been messed up the last couple of months.
Cool. So all I have to do is renew my Sprint contract once I decide if I want to keep Sprint. Sounds like a good deal to me.
Sprint Rules, all other Drool because I said so! The EVDO data is faster than Verizon. I have tested with two identical laptops side-by-side. The sound clarity on Sprint is also better. You will not get the "echos" like on Verizon. And... Sprint can roam on Verizon. In So California, the converse it not true. Sprint = #1 Verizon = #2 -jim (Resident Sprint Shill)
Since your line is new you shouldn't have to extend your contract. In the worst case you will have too.
Ok. The worst case scenario is that I would have to renew my contract to port my number over after I see if I like the service. If the coverage and phone works, then it sounds like a good deal to me.
