Someone has reported that you can get unlimited EVDO on phone as modem for $40/month with 2yr contract. All of Sprint's PowerVision phones can be tethered as a modem on a PC and some apparently work on Mac but is not officially supported. http://www.pdaphonehome.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65347 Sprint's other option is $25/month for 40MB and a KB charge that caps to $70/month unlimited. $40/month is a pretty good deal if valid. The downside of phone-as-modem (vs. a $60/month laptop card) is that you can't talk on phone while doing data. Verizon only officially allows phone-as-modem on the new BlackBerry EVDO phone. Looking for more confirmation. Many are getting away with unlimited tethering with the $15/month PowerVision acct but some are not, I suspect those who are doing gigabytes of traffic. This is a pretty decent rate for heavy users.
