    Sprint Adds 13 Sites to Its Wireless Networks in Hawaii and Provides Improved Customer Experience in the Islands

    HONOLULU, Dec 02, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- To improve the customer experience in Hawaii, Sprint (NYSE:S) invested more than $6.7 million and added 13 new cell sites to its wireless networks in the area during the first three quarters of 2008. Additionally, Sprint launched its Ready Now program -- an enhanced customer service experience -- in all of its island chain retail stores.

"With enhanced coverage and our Ready Now program, we are making it easier than ever to do business with Sprint. We want our customers to enjoy all the benefits of the Now Network and unleash the power of their Sprint wireless devices to access the Internet, enjoy location-based solutions and access exclusive content such as NFL Mobile. Wireless is changing the way people interact with their world, and we want to make that experience a positive one for our customers."

    Sprint Mobile Broadband with EV-DO (Evolution - Data Optimized) Revision (Rev.) A technology, combined with a wide variety of EV-DO Rev. A-capable devices, allows customers to send and receive e-mail with large file attachments, access the Internet in seconds and enjoy streaming video and other real-time applications, as well as location-based solutions, on-the-go. Customers in the following areas will experience a better overall wireless experience as a result of recent network enhancements:

    CDMA-enhanced areas that include EV-DO coverage:

    * Waimea Canyon on Kauai
    * Wailua Homestead on Kauai
    * Kukuiolono on Kauai
    * Anahola on Kauai
    * Keokea on the Big Island
    * Paauilo on the Big Island
    * Ainaola on the Big Island
    * University of Hawaii on Oahu
    * Kahala on Oahu

    iDEN site enhancements that include Nextel Direct Connect:

    * Paiwa on Oahu
    * Waimano Home Area on Oahu
    * Schofield Barracks on Oahu
    * Kahului on Maui
