So I get a bill in the mail with a credit balance of about $65. No phone numbers listed on the bill, and the account number is different from that of my current account. I call in to inquire about the bill. Turns out it is from 2002!! I closed the account with a credit balance, but apparently it never fully closed in their system and I obviously forgot about the whole thing. So I got the credit balance shifted over to my current account and all is well. You think it would have taken Sprint 5 years to bill be if I owed them money??
I'm surprised they even gave you the credit. After 5 years, you would think they would just write it off.
Is that a joke? Their system must really be messed up if it brings up an account from 5 years ago, even if it still has a credit balance that should have been taken care of 5 years ago.
I've read on HoFo lately that Sprint is consolidating their billing with Nextel, which may have resulted in the discovery of past credits, etc. Cool part is that you get a nice, unexpected discount on your next bill (or two)...
I got one of those last year for over $600 - no phone numbers and a different account number - I called them and they swore they had no idea what I was talking about. I still have it - maybe I'll give them another call - sheureka
