Yeah I tried to tell everyone they would be blowing away the competition in another thread but nobody would believe me. It's not official yet. Whether or not it's going to be $60 or $70 remains to be seen but I would think even $75 would be one sweet deal.
What will blow away the others is IF Sprint charges normal rates for family plans. With others charging $99.00 for extra lines it would be no contest.
If Sprint really does have something like this in the works that would be pretty amazing. This is really shaking up the wireless industry... we all knew that it would be only a matter of time.
Wirelessly posted (Walkguru's: LG-CU515/V1.0c Obigo/Q05A Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 UP.Link/6.3.1.17.06.3.1.17.0) it all cought me by surprise.
most of the wireless industry is at a standstill trying to figure out wtf is going on and what impact this will have.... only time will tell...honestly this is the first time ive seen VZW make a bold "___k it lets do this ____ and hope for the best" move in awhile
By the way Boost Mobile is now offering unlimited plans for customers in Hawaii for $35/month. Unlimited Talk, Text, Web: $45/month. So an unlimited plan for $60 or $70 from Sprint is looking more like a reality.
I would go unlimited everything for $45-$60 a month, no problem. But most of these unlimited plans are way out of my league for my usage. I would love to see Sprint and others start offering Sero type plans. :browani:
Maybe Sprint will try to reinvent themselves into a Metro or a Cricket??? Then those two would be kicking themselves for not merging.
I think t-mobile is going to be the biggest loser in the deal. They just unveiled their unlimited version at 199.98 a month for a family share plan and then 99.99 for additional lines. Their version includes unlimited text/picture messaging, but still. Undercutting from Sprint or not...Tmobile's seems to be the hardest pill to swallow...:loony:
T-Mobile can do a lot better than that value wise........i know there was a thread where someone outlined how much it really cost to give unlimited everything and I thought it was really pathetic........they take out sooooo much profit
I've been a t-mobile customer for years, you know back when they were Voicestream and everything here in Hawaii? Not even I want to go for the service if it's at that price and trust me, I've had my share of overages in my family plan...damn kids I tell ya!
Well I've had all of the main cellphone providers at some point or other in Hawaii. Sprint was the worst, I couldn't even call from a building that had a clear line of sight to a cellphone tower. Here in Hawaii, Sprint won a large contract to provide wireless communication for the military, but rather than using the money they were given to erect more towers, they simply diverted bandwith from regular customers to the military. Not so bright, but hey that's corporate America for you now isn't it? I had major customer service issues with both Sprint and Cingular. Tmobile has good customer service, but there are quite a few dead spots around the island and practically no service on some of our smaller neighbor islands. Verizon's reach is the greatest throughout all islands, their customer service is pretty good as well. Their only problem is at the outset, they're very expensive because you have to pay for the phone in full and then their plans tend to be a little higher than the others.
Couldn't pay me the $60 to go back to Sprint!!! I would't go back to them if they offered unlimited for $20!!!! SPRINT SUCKS!!!!
The customer service with Sprint was quite horrendous and the reception really started to suck for me at the end there.
Same experience here. I'm A Former Sprint customer that moved to Alltel in 2006 for My Circle and for low Sprint signal in Upstate SC. Only Sprint / Nextel has low signal here, everyone else, even SunCom, full signal!
I completely agree! It's almost like we are moving in the wrong direction. I don't want more minutes for the same price, I want the same number of minutes for a lower price. I have the SERO plan with 500 minutes and I never even use half of them. Sure, I'm happy with my plan, but only because it's the cheapest thing available. I still feel like I'm wasting money because of all the minutes I pay for but don't use. I'd switch down to something with fewer minutes if it were offered, but there I can't get any plan cheaper than $35/month including text messaging, taxes, and fees. A new unlimited plan does nothing for me -- and most consumers -- unless it is cheaper than what I have now.
I swear I'm not trying to be a smartass or anything...just a question though...what do you mean by trolling? Sounds like something that could piss other people off, so I'm just wondering what it is.
Just on the off chance you are serious and haven't heard the term "trolling" before: Troll (Internet) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Re: T-Mobile's plan offers the most for the least . . . . I don't follow? T-Mobile has included FREE Unlimited Text, Pic & Video (at no additional cost). Verizon & att charge $20 additional. T-Mobile is currently the value leader. Unsupported Browser. Best.
I visited a couple of Sprint corporate retail stores that weren't busy last week (a bad sign) and asked how things were going. These people were all pumped about what's gonna be next for Sprint, but didn't really know what it is. You could tell they were a little disheartened about Sprint's current state of affairs but truly believed something big was about to happen. I hope they're right. But after I heard Jim Cramer state this afternoon that Verizon's primary objective is to put Sprint out of business, and they weren't doing it with just wireless, it was everything including FIOS, I heard the fat lady clearing her throat. It doesn't matter what Sprint does, but they need to do it fast, even if it's throw in the towel.
So you heard that comment by him too huh? I think it's a so/so move by Sprint they had to do something since everyone else did, but if they come in so cheap it maybe the look of a desperate carrier trying to get customers & may counter what they want to do, people may say why are all the others at the same price & Sprint is cheaper? is there something wrong with them? Yes the bargin hunters will be very happy (including those with low credit that Sprint wanted to avoid), and I am sure until we see quarterly results with this being for a full qtr it's going to be hard to judge what happens & how good it's going to be for Sprint & heck if they do a massive new customer adds then the other 3 will have to react which would be a good thing for everyone else. Time will tell what happens with this move & they need to stop loosing so many Nextel customers which doesn't appear to be happening anytime soon.
