Hey this is completly random and all, but does anyone think that Alltel would ever buy out or be interested in SouthernLinc, I know they are two different technologies and everything......

I always just assumed Sprint/Nextel would buy them.

I don't think Alltel would be interested as they would only gain a few counties in northern AL and northern GA. Alltel would probably have to divest the rest of SL's territory. I just don't believe Alltel would purchase a company where they would have to divest more than half of that company's coverage.

They would not purchase them because they are an SMR provider and Alltel does not do anything on the SMR band just Cellular and PCS.

They would have to have SMR plans for iDEN phones and plans for Cellular/PCS for CDMA phones.

99.999% for the sure they will not be bought by Alltel.

Ah, ok. Thanks, yeah I guess it really wouln't make since for anything other then gaining some countries in northern Georgia. The cost for everything else that would come with it wouldn't be worth it.
