I been on Cingular since 1997 first with a analog phone and then a TDMA phone. Finally GSM is here in my area in western KY. I went to the store and looked the phone and it was nice and small. I have several questions about it.

    1. Does it hold up well? Since it isn't a filp phone it looks a little frail.

    2. Has anyone actually used this phone in Europe to see if it works. It should as it is GSM 850, 1800, and 1900. I'm going to London in July and am thinking about getting it. Oh and if you have roamed with it in England....London.....and are on the cingular plans..... what sort of cost per minute did you have to pay to call inside the England and then what cost per minute did you pay to call back to the US. I've went to 2 cingular stores and called 1-866-cingualar 3 time. They say it will work there but no one can tell me what it will cost. AT&T lists costs on their web site as $1.29 per minute with O2 and Vodaphone in London.

    3. Does it come in as good as a regular digital phone?

    4. What kind of battery life and call time do you get on a charge. The specs seem to be almost too good to be true at 7.5 hours and 12.5 days on standby....

    Thanks

My friend just picked up a T306. Forum feedback from what I can tell is very positive, but I don't like the fact that pushing down on the joystick won't display stored SIM addresses, only phone memory addresses, which, if true, is unbelievably lame. (A Sony-Ericsson problem?)

A much more fun solution for calling from London is to buy the cheapest Virgin phone possible and do a pay-as-you-go plan. Calls are only 20p to the U.S. and Canada. I know you're gonna say, "it's more expensive," but you have to experience UK phone services to realize how lousy stateside mobile services really are.

Plus you get a permanent UK number you can put on business cards, which looks cool.

    Just a thought.

[IMG] The T306 is an EXCELLENT phone that just happens to be inexpensive. I think you will really like it. Plus, all your Ericsson accessories will fit (chargers, earbud, etc)![IMG]

Yup, the 306 is a solid phone for a great price. Software is almost similar to the t68 and its very intuitive.
