Anyone out there know of this? Does it even exist? From Verizon? I was just curious. Thanks for any responses and or information!
Software updates (firmware) are changes to the phone's operating system. They usually correct problems that have been reported on the phone. For example, voice too loud, too low, numbers on the screen are too small etc. The last update for 3589 was February. You can find yours by the following procedure. Use this number as though you are making a call, but do not hit send *3001#12345#. Scroll down to s/w or something that implies last software update. You will then see the version number and the date it was put into the phone. I suggest if you are happy do not go for the update.
You shouldn't have to go into the programing menu, just press *#837# and the S/W version should be listed along with the PRL. Anyboby know what the latest version # is for the 3589 so kjo can check their's.
Mine is saying V D101V0801.nep 19-09-03 ... Does anyone know what the differences where or what the software upgrade corrected??????? thanks... kjo

I wonder if Verizon and Nokia are working on a even newer software update. Maybe something that would allow us to set the backlight timeing, and add some new ringtones.
