Well I just wanted to add that my phone doesn't beep when I answer it with the voice recording key. However on my girlfriends phone who got it about 2 weeks ago it does beep. She just went to verizon today and they exchanged it for the new ones that just came in this week. No problem with hers. The software is like mine though (21.03.31.05). Also her service wasn't that great in some areas but now it's fine. I don't understand why they don't just wait or recall the old phones they sold. I mean how many could they have sold in 2 weeks.

Hello all.............well I have been trying out the 720 for about a week now and love it. I am actually connected to the internet right now using the 1x on the phone and it seems to perform better than the 2235 that I was using. No issues yet on the 720. I am a Tech for Verizon and no new software versions are out yet. Soon games will be on the phone like bowling...baseball.etc!

    Itech and Bacala,

you both have me perplexed with this ominous 21.03.31.05 version, and you are still assuming this is an upgrade without hard fact proof or written evidence. I have message threads going in three seperate forums and nobody else so far out of 75 respondants all over the country has reported anything but the 01.02.22.17P software version. All of these respondants are Verizon customers and many of these respondants include people who purchased the phone in the last few days or have exchanged their T720 once or twice because of various issues like you are reporting. Also, neither Verizon nor Motorola report any other version for the phone currently avbailable. and the closest I've gotten to information on an upcoming software enhancement will be 19p next month.

Are you sure you are viewing the version correctly by the following menu sequence?

    Menu...Settings...Phone Status...Other Info...S/W Version

Anyway, I don't doubt what you are reporting, but remember until we see something in writing , 21.03.31.05 may not be an upgrade to 01.02.22.17P. It may be a GSM software version or whatever, but I have seen no authoritative evidence of it and many people report no issues with their phones on the 01.02.22.17P version.

Yes, I have no issues whatsoever with my phone (freezed, quirky behaviors) aside from the slow menus and scrolling, especially in the browser. I think that it's unconcsionalbe that they did not include a page up/down feature for use within the browser. It really sucks scrolling line by line. If this annoys you too, I urge you to email this issue to Moto using their website product support page and request that this feature be implemented in a future s/w release.

My brother in Troy, NY also bought a T720, and the tech in verizon store confirmed and admitted that there are 4 known bugs in the phone. The tech also told him that they will got a firmware update from Motorola in 2 weeks, and agreed to flash the phone for my brother, free of charge of course.

Now, how reliable is this tech is up to question. I have previous experience like this and people are saying there are updated version of the phone firmware, but it ends up to be vaper-ware that I never come across long time after I've changed and bought another phone.

I hope what the tech told me brother is true and accurate though.
