    The iPhone 6 and 6+ are aet for preorder this Friday.

    All of us ATT members and jPhone owners that signed up with Next, with the intention of a free upgrade. What are you doing?

    I'm leaning to preordering to the 4.7" 64GB model. Same price as the older 32.

    I'm contract free, so I can do it.

    I don't see any unlocked option yet though.

    AnthroMatt, and some others, what's your plan?

    My step-daughter is itching to get one and I was planning on getting one for my wife for Christmas, but the lack of an unlocked version is disturbing. I wonder if the T-Mobile/VZW ones are unlocked, but I didn't see an option of buying the VZW one at full price.

    It normally take a bit for the unlocked to come out. Maybe a month?

    I thought the 5s was available right away. Wonder if the VZW version will be unlocked and work with AT&T.

    I honestly don't remember. You could be correct. Each year is different.

    Yep, the Tmobile contract free phone is the same model as the ATT GSM. So that should work. Or you could buy it will Next, and the pay it off early...and that would be the same as the Tmobile price...but you would have to get it unloved by ATT (I don't see a problem there...maybe...since the laws have changed).

    Or just wait a bit...xmas is a ways off. I think the Apple ordering page is changing every day. It does say you can buy it contract free. And why limit it to Tmobile?

    Overseas they are selling it unlocked apparently. I think for the US market, that is a minor niche, so it just may not be t here yet.

    The goal is to not have to go to AT&T for the unlock code. There's been a few of unexpected "can't find that IMEI" replies lately.

    I think I can wait till X-Mas with the wife's phone (well, *I* certainly can), but not with the kid's. She's got an iPhone 4 :)

    It actually says this on the iPhone 6 Apple web page:

    But I don't see the follow through, except for Tmobile, and that requires a TMo plan, right???

    So maybe they are just not making a big splash about it? I'd call Apple or something.

    Or maybe the day of preorder we will see the web page reflect that statement above.

    Also, the fine print, as a footnote on that same page says:

    I think with the unlocked price list published now, they will be available on launch day. They may not just a lot of them, and may be pushing carrier version first.

    dmapr, I was chatting with Apple on-line about Next. I did ask about unlocked phones for sale, and this was the answer. I hope she was wrong!

    I am contract free on both lines but I have no plans to get either version of iPhone 6 at this point. I am very happy with the 5s and not interested in anything larger at this point. My 5s is unlocked so that's yet another reason.

    However, I am really looking forward to iOS 8. :)

    Of course Charlyee you already have a 4.7 Moto X, so its not fair to say you are not interested in a larger screen.

    Yes, on the iOS8, I agree too.

    I'll be keeping my 5S, btw. I bet that ATT's whole Next program will not last the year out in 2015.
