4. You will be Verizon, as there are no divestitures in Texas. Also, Verizon has stated it hopes to have the full merger complete by the end of the year, at the latest. Hopefully it will be sooner. The hitch right now is merging Alltel into VZ's billing system.

Unless Verizon states otherwise, you won't be able to get a Verizon phone until you receive notification the merger is complete. For now, no cross-carrier phone interoperability.

They are not being divested. Besides, they would KNOW if they were. Those who are in divested markets have been notified.

 

Ok. So not being divested means you're just waiting on Verizon to assimilate Alltel's billing system pretty much.

A question...even though I'm being divested...are we still getting m2m and unlimited m2m texting to Verizon cutomers? I have 1000 out of network messages and I've sent alot..but #668 only says like 27 out of network and 2500 in network..anyone help??

 

You will still have M2M to other divested Alltel customers until they are moved into the Verizon billing system and officially become Verizon customers, and the same goes for them reaching you. Once they become Verizon, OR your maket is sold, then that won't apply anymore.

 

so the answer to my question would be NO anything i send then to Verizon is still classified as a out of network text? This damn merger thing is really confusing..LOL

I'm confused myself..are you saying that once my market is sold, then the texts and calls to Verizon wont be M2M?

 

If you are being divested you are technically a customer of a different company than the Alltel that is non divested... for the time being you are still the same brand, but not really (th companies can have different prices and offers as they are not managed by the same people any longer.

 

Once the divested market is sold and/or the the non-divested customer is transtioned to Verizon then the calls between the numbers (and texts) will NO LONGER be M2M.

 

so right now at this time they ALL are M2M until someone buys my divested market??

 

Or until the Non-Divested customer becomes a Verizon Wireless customer.

I solved the problem..I've switced to Verizon as of Friday March, 20 2009 I'll be Verizon customer!

 

Did you use the Mansfield Corporate store?? I hope your experience was a good one. They have messed up on our account more than once when adding lines or buying accessories. So frustrating But the retail stores seem to have their act together in comparison.

As all of my friends are Alltel I'm keeping my personal account with Alltel even though we are being divested.

 

Actually...I bought them from Verizonwireless.com...so far no problems...we did have to buy the network extender...other than that I'm lovong my service!
