is it just me, or is this the worst thing ive ever seen? everyone else i know (with much more basic phones) get texts directly to their phone, mine you have to go to some website to read the message and respond, and its horribly slow and clunky! is there a better option to SMS?
i was never much of an SMS Whore, but now there are people i talk to who text me all the time, and its a pain to read and respond to it...

whats the deal? are there any other sprint phones that would handle this better? im considering that new small PDA Phone (Sanyo? samsung? the grayish one) but if thats equally as bad....hm...

also, when i send messages, sometimes it doesnt even send them..and people arent getting my messages.......sometimes i click on "reply" and it just drops me back to the main list?! wth is going on with this? does anyone else have these issues?

Sprint is just now in the process of implementing "true" SMS. The only current phones that are SMS capable are:

    Sanyo VM4500
    Toshiba VM4050
    Samsung VI660
    Treo 600
    Nokia 3588i
    PPC5050
    Audiovox 600

I'm in a "test" area and SMS is working great for me as of 2 days ago (I have the VM4500/5500). You're probably eligible for rebates on a new phone with a new contract. I'd go into a Sprint store and check out the phones and ask them what they can do for you. - sheureka [IMG]

Currently an i500 user and to answer your question, "NO!" This phone is as bad as the one you are currently using in regards to SMS.....it is not capable of it. I have never been a fan of Samsung phones, but I caved in to the desire for a "smartphone." I must tell you, at least with the Sanyo 4900, I had the ability to do short mail; the i500 doesnt even allow for that.

Your best bet for REAL sms is the Treo 600 or any one of the other compatible phones. I have had the i500 for a week and I am not impressed by it; and yes, before the sun sets tomorrow, I will have the 600.
