Well as far as I know any Smart Access customer must pay for the phone up front. I went through the steps of ordering online and it was my understanding that it was going to ask me for my credit card information. Well it didn't and it submitted the order. My contract was extended for two years as of today.. So is my line going to get shut up since the phone was billed to my account because it's going to go over the spending limit? I'm really confused right now.. I don't want my line to be shut off. What do you guys think I should do? Just wait it out and see what happens?
If you were eligible for upgrade, and paid your bill on time up until that point, you should be able to be taken off of smart access. Whether or not it does this automatically online Im not sure. I would call T-mobile and ask them, if they do say you are getting billed and cant be removed from smart access, just pay them over the phone.
I wouldn't think the price of a phone would be included. Under SmartAccess, I thought the balance only pertained to the total dollar amount of billable calls. When I switched from prepay to postpay (Basic Plus, January 2005), T-Mobile gave me the phone (a Nokia 6010) free.
