The other day I was on my phone in my house and the call dropped and it said signal faded. What exactly does that mean? I always have a full signal? Thanks, Mike
I've never heard of that. Prehaps if you posted what model phone you have, and your carrier someone may have an answer.
Wireless will never be perfect. Sometimes the network will have temporary glitches such as that. Nothing to be too worried about unless it starts happening multiple times.
Yeah, that is the truth. Signal faded just means the phone dropped the call. It doesn't necessarily mean there was no signal. And it could have been the phone losing the tower or the tower losing the phone. Just something that happens. I would say it happens to me most often in poor signal areas, but it can happen anywhere.
I think Sprint phones are the only ones that will say "signal faded." Other carriers just drop the call.
Yup, my Sprint Palm Centro also says "signal faded" when I drop a call (which so far has only happened when I walk into my elevator while talking on the phone and the elevator doors close).
All of my Sprint phones as far back as I remember have said 'signal faded' or something similar to that.
my Sprint RAZR said that but my ACE just sits for a bit and then says call ended......unless i'm totally mistaken and it's the other side dropping calls.......in my 3 years at Sprint I can't remember ever having a dropped call....T-Mobile i remember maybe 3......generally i live in a decent coverage area for all the carriers.....
The "Signal Faded" message is indicating that the phone completely lost the signal from the tower and any of it's neighbors it was monitoring. Typically it happens when you're in an area with only one PN offset serving and it disappears for more than a second or so.
I have a samsung M510 and I have times at the house that it will have faded call. Seems like it in the summer time. I was thinking the tower was getting over loaded.
