    Hey all.

Here's the short version of the question... Does anyone know how I can enable one laptop with a 3G card (on T Mobile) to share this 3G link with another laptop?

One idea I had was to have the two computers linked as such.....

    Laptop A
    with 3G card
and Linksys WTR54GS WIreless travel router
    ........and...........
    Laptop B
With Wifi adapter (to talk to the travel router in Laptop A)

    Another idea was.......

    Laptop A
with 3G card (somehow marked as shared connection)
    ...........and...........
    Laptop B

and the two laptops linked with a crossover 10baseT type cable

Does anyone have any real world experience of this? If not, can anyone offer any thoughts on how I can acheive this

I realise the speed will suffer, from the 384 3G but thats not really an issue.

    Cheers guys

    Hi Tony,

I've done it a few times. Read up on Windows XP Internet Connection Sharing and you should be fine. Basically you need to manually set your IP's and setup a route so that your other laptop is able to route out to the 3G laptop. DNS should also be set to the 3G laptop.

    Have fun!

you have to setup internet connection sharing
    source: 3G connection
    target: your wireless card
since you have wireless travel router, you just need to setup as wireless access point
    ---or---
you can setup ad-hoc connection between laptops (use same SSID and channel)
I used the second method to share EDGE with couple of laptops
