Lol, umm will you accept 3cents a message instead? :O In my case it is a comined messaging packaging so SMS & MMS are at the same rate.
As of yesterday, I: sent 421 IN TXT messages received 493 IN TXT messages sent 21 IN Pix/Flix received 33 IN pix/flix sent 172 other TEXT received 207 other TXT sent 29 other pix/flix and received 5 other pix/flix I wonder what the new cycle will bring
LOL... for now IM just depletes my text allowance. When I had the mobile web, I tried to use the Yahoo IM and I was directed to the TXT based application
My first full billing cycle on T-Mobile and I sent/received 81 txt and 4 picture messages. Earlier I had said that 300/month was tops. That's still true, but 100/month is probably more the norm. So my 400 messages/mo for $4.99 is plenty for me. This leaves out a few sent on my Blackberry, but on that I mostly send email. SW
If it was not for IM+ (which utilizes data only) for me on the BB my SMS usage would have been through the roof as I make sure that my staff SMS me if there is no way to get me via IM method.
Well this is a bit OT, but what's the practical difference between IM, txt and email on the BB? All of them are delivered right away. As you implied, txt usage is charged differently, but for work needs I prefer email to txt or IM on the BB. My txt is primarily personal and I am using my phone to txt people who don't have a Blackberry. SW
Well this is more for when they need some quick back and forth discussions while at a site and where their email access is limited. They have an IM app loaded on their mobile device which we use for back and forth. Other than that it would have to be Text and the cost would be for international SMS sending and that can be costly as well as as we all sending int'l is not always that reliable as at times it takes up to 2 to 3 hours for the delivery. I do apologize if this has taken the topic to an off topic.
Thanks for the clarification. That makes sense - they may not have Blackberries and the handoff from international to domestic carriers is not necessarily quick for text messages. So IM works better for you. That's interesting - I never thought of it that way. SW
I have the 14.95/month unlimited to anybody text package from USCC and last month the bill shows 1866 messages sent / 1921 recieved, but I don't get charged for incoming.
I'm going nuts since Cingular released the unlimited M2M texting. Altho its still not as great as completely unlimited, I'll take what I can get. ~*Ash*~
I've got the unlimited messaging (all kinds) from Alltel for $19.99. Most of the time I average 1800 or so in and out. The most I ever did was 2,398 outgoing.
My billing cycle started on the 22nd, and here is my text messaging usage so far: IN TEXT SENT: 2043 IN TEXT RECEIVED: 2043 OTHER SENT: 56 OTHER RECEIVED:68 IN PIX MESSAGES SENT: 73 IN PIX MESSAGES RECEIVED: 54 OTHER PIX MESSAGES SENT:6 OTHER PIX MESSAGES SENT:1
I use about 50 a month or less during the winter time. I tend to send more texts in the summer time when I'm sitting by the pool watching the kids swim.
As of yesterday: IN Text 124 Sent/127 received Other Domestic Text 65 Sent/70 Received Last Text Message 04/13/07, 1:57 PM IN PIX/FLIX 5 Sent/12 Received Other PIX/FLIX 12 Sent/1 Received Last PIX/FLIX Message 04/13/07, 1:57 PM The system is slow in providing me with updated information At the end on my cycle (4/3) for my old number: My new number: Even with the crazy proration last month, I didn't go over my allowance
